(a) whether Government of India has issued any advisory to the State Governments for
strict enforcement of ban on engaging children under 18 years in bidi rolling in private and
public dwellings, factories, etc., under the Child Labour Prohibition and Regulation Act 1986
and Juvenile Justice Act, 2000;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Union Government will declare beedi rolling as a hazardous employment
and has any new proposal for creating profitable and healthy alternative emplcjyment
opportunities to protect them from tobacco related diseases and to lead a healthy
livelihood; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

Will the Minister ol Labour and Employmen!be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Social Security Code maintains that the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF)
Scheme will remain applicable, as before, to every establishment in which 20 or more
employees are employed;
(b) whether lhis means that for informal sector workers, access to employees' provident
fund remains unfulfilled too in the new code; and
(c) if so, the steps taken by Government to redress this and to ensure the financial security
of workers in the informal sector?
