You heard it right. Anyone can be an entrepreneur, but it is not for

everyone. Confusing? Simply put, it is this way. Anyone can aspire to be a
doctor, lawyer, or engineer but not everyone can become a good doctor,
lawyer, or engineer.

You might be asking, but why? Isn’t entrepreneurship only about selling a
product or service? It’s part of it, but it is not all about it.

It is more than that. Entrepreneurship is about adding value to others

through doing business. It takes a lot of time and effort. You will, and you
need to sacrifice a lot to establish a business. Anyone can be an
entrepreneur, but only some are called to be one. Let me show you what I
am talking about when it says that Entrepreneurship is not for everyone.

1. Entrepreneurship will give you sleepless nights.

Building a business from the ground up is time-consuming. Hours and days
of planning, experimenting, and consulting. This is what happened behind
the scene that most people don’t see. The struggle and the hardship to
create a product or a service are there to the point that the thought process
haunts you in your dreams! (Scary, lol). I remember when we were planning
for our cafe, we spent grueling hours to have the best possible experience
for our customers. Even the tiny details, we’ve given thought and effort to
make it enjoyable.

2. Entrepreneurship is brutal
When I say it is brutal, it is because, at first, only a few people will support
you or even buy into your vision. Worse, your closest family and friends will
laugh at you and expect you to fail. It may make you feel alone, but trust me,
and it is worth it in the long run. There will be discouragement along the
way, but it will test your perseverance and resiliency.

3. Entrepreneurship makes you critical

One thing I hate about being an entrepreneur is making you critical about
yourself, which may result in self-doubt. When you are stuck or fail at
something you believe will work, it will mess up how you think about
yourself. It affects your morale and motivation, which can hinder the
progress that you are making.

Mental strength is a factor considered when putting up a venture. Amidst

the distractions, you got to stay focused. From my experience, when I am
about to build a new venture, many things happen in life that make me
want to quit. But Someone encouraged me to stay put and continue the
course. Mental toughness helped me overcome challenges.

BUT…
It can be your calling. You can be an entrepreneur. But accept that it isn’t
easy; it isn’t glamorous, and not everyone will love you. You may see the
result after a year or even five years. The question now is will you take the
plunge?

Don’t worry you are not alone! There are people, who went through the
same journey and would love to help you jumpstart and start your own
venture — including ME.
