A bishop-bowl (Danish: Bispebolle) is a punch bowl made of faience and shaped in the form of a mitre (a
bishop's hat) that was popular in Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein in the eighteenth end nineteenth
centuries. The alcoholic drink served from the bowl was known as "bishop".
The most important factories are those of Rörstrand and Marieberg (Koja) in Sweden. A typical Rococo
concept to come from Marieberg is a vase standing at the top of a winding flight of steps. Called a
terrace vase it is often decorated with a rabbit or some other animal.
