Mill, Co-author of "Collective Genius" and professor
management at Harvard Business School, who explains the new ABCs of leading innovation. From myself, I think leadership is the art of inspiring and influencing other's actions and behavior to conform to requirements. In order to accomplish shared objectives, a leader must influence the actions of followers. For this reason, a leader has to have a thorough understanding of the organization's goals and the factors that contribute to accomplishing those goals. By concentrating on corporate goals, the leader must give followers direction. When someone has ability to influence others and they follow their advice, suggestions, and direction, that person is said to be a leader. Only an effective leader has the power to change a follower's attitude, perception, and conduct. Manager is considered a leader inside the company. He or she must exert influence over the actions and behavior of followers in their capacity as a leader. For this reason, he or she needs to have thorough understanding of the organization's goals and the methods for accomplishing them. By concentrating on goals, he or she must give subordinates direction and instruction. As Linda explains, leaders must meet the leadership ABCs. "A" that the leader must be an architect, "B" that he/she must be a bridge builder, and "C" that he/she must be a catalyst. Innovation becomes more important, which means moving from vision to shaping culture and skills, so we no longer ask ourselves what our vision is, urging people to follow us and drive us into the future. We don't have to focus on how to create guidelines for, but we should. If we want to lead an organization and build an organization capable of massive innovation and rapid growth, we need ABCs characters in our leadership. The first role is that of the architect who builds the company's culture and innovative capabilities. Building culture and skill is necessary for groups of people to collaborate, experiment and learn. The role of leader is to unlock the various ingenuity within the organization and harness and utilize it for the benefit of the community. The second role is the Bridger role in building partnership outside the organization. we need access to people and tools across our organization. we don’t have all the people and tools to innovate within our organization, so we need to be able to bridge the gap. This is because other organizations may be better at something and need to focus on other things that are part of their core competencies. The final point is the role of a catalyst to accelerate co-creation across the ecosystem. We need the support of other organizations to innovate. These three roles are closely related. Let's take a look at Pfizer's real-life example of turning a vendor into a partner. So, it turns out companies have to go out to get what they want. To get in the point that the varieties of leadership skills are based on the personal qualities as well as managerial qualities. As you’ve mentioned in the question, I'll explain six leadership skills. We can carry-out ABCs principle as a primary perspective in order to develop leadership skills and by implementing these below mentioned points in our practical life.
