the skills and experience to be able to meet the requirements of units you are
appealing the assessment of.
Your trainer will outline the appeals process, which is available to the student. You can
request a form to make an appeal and submit it to your trainer, the course coordinator,
or the administration officer. The AHIC will examine the appeal and you will be advised
of the outcome within 14 days. Any additional information you wish to provide may be
attached to the appeal form.

5. Many workplaces encourage their staff to build networks both internally and

externally in the organization. This may be through online networks, such as
LinkedIn, or by engaging with the community and other services or businesses that
may be of benefit to the organization. Furthermore, professional development
processes encourage staff to meet new people by attending conferences, training
sessions, and other events.  Discuss three reasons why networking can lead to a
more productive and effective workplace environment.

Answer- Three reasons that networking can lead to a more productive and effective
workplace environment are:

• Knowledge Sharing- Networking helps in exchanging of knowledge and idea among

individuals. When the employee connects with another colleague, they both can learn
new things from the viewpoint and experience of one another. It helps employees to
share their projects and things learned from the projects, this will help other
employee adapt successful techniques to their work and not make the same mistake
as other. When employees connect with the colleague from different departments,
they gain exposure to different perspectives.

• Skills development- Networking helps in skill development as experienced

colleagues provide guidance and support to junior colleagues, they help them to
develop specific skills by sharing their knowledge. Employees connect with their
colleagues in other departments and can learn from each other’s skills. It also helps to
develop teamwork skills as well.

• New opportunity- Networking in the workplace helps to create new opportunities for
employees. It helps employees to get information about new jobs and career
opportunities within their industry. It also helps in creating business opportunities
with their colleagues.

6. Not everyone is the best at communicating or interacting with other people. A

workplace will consist of people from different backgrounds and cultures, those
with different life, education, and work experiences, and those with
varying abilities and needs. Some organizations have in place a variety of systems
and support for their staff. These may relate to staff well-being/ employee assistance
programs, training in soft skills such as communication and interpersonal skills,
diversity training, and so on. Explain how these types of processes can assist staff to
work more effectively together.

Answer- Working in a workplace that consists of people from different backgrounds and
cultures can assist staff to work more effectively together as staff will learn new things from
each other, will learn different languages which will help to develop their teamwork skills
and communication skills. They will develop to have more patience skills as everyone
belongs to a different diversity and will have a variety of skills. They will work together, be
more confident, and can brainstorm new ideas for the betterment of the workplace.

7. Explain the value of consulting with employees on topics such as workplace issues,
innovation, diversity, work health and safety, and professional development.
