1 INTRODUCTION
The reservoir pressure in Qatar’s North Field has been declining due to continuous production since
the early 1990s. The North Field is the world’s largest natural gas field and accounts for nearly all of the
state of Qatar’s gas production. The principal objective of the NFPS project is to sustain plateau from
existing QG South Operation – RL Dry Gas, RGE Wet gas and existing QG North Operation – QG1 &
QG2, production areas by implementing an integrated and optimum investment program consisting of
subsurface development, pressure drop reduction steps and compression. Refer to figure below for a
schematic of North Field.

NFPS project comprises of 3 main investment programs:


1) Investment #1: Drilling and Associated Facilities
• QG North : QG1 (WHP10N and WHP11N) and QG2 (WHP12N and WHP13N)
• QG South : RGE (WHP12S, WHP13S, WHP14S)
• RL, RGE, QG2 Spare Slots Project
2) Investment #2: Trunk line Looping and Intra-field pipeline looping
• QG North: QG1 32” Looping
• QG South: RL 32” Looping and RGE PL 610 38” Looping
3) Investment #3: Compression
• QG North: QG1 Compression (CP1N) and QG2 Compression (CP4N and CP6N)
QG South: RL Compression (CP1S) and RGE Compression (CP6S, CP7S, CP4S and CP8S)

Drilling and Looping Investments #1 and #2 are in execution phase and are being executed by I1P1
EPC, EPCO and EPCL projects with the exception of WHP13N, which will be part of NFPS
Compression project execution. The NFPS Compression Project involves the installation of large
offshore compression facilities at multiple locations. The compression facilities will be installed after the
completion of the Drilling and Looping Projects.
Qatargas Operating Company Limited is leading the development of the North Field Production
Sustainability (NFPS) Project. The principal objective of the NFPS project is to economically sustain
plateau from existing QG South (RGE, RL) and QG North (QG1 & QG2) production assets by
implementing an integrated and optimum investment program consisting of subsurface developments,
pressure drop reduction steps and offshore compression facilities installation.
CONTRACTOR is awarded to perform FEED for NFPS Compression Project – RGE, RL and QG2
Facilities.
2 DEFINITIONS AND ACRONYMS

2.1 Definitions
The following definitions used in the present PROJECT procedure are:

CONTRACTOR Middle East Projects International (Technip MEPI)
EPC CONTRACTOR CONTRACTOR engaged by COMPANY to execute EPC contract activities
or/and services
SUBCONTRACTOR A party who is providing subcontracted services specified and ordered by
CONTRACTOR or EPC CONTRACTOR
THIRD PARTY Third Party appointed by CONTRACTOR
VENDOR (SUPPLIER) A party who is responsible to manufacture and supply equipment and/or
services
SUB-VENDOR A party who is responsible to manufacture and supply equipment and/or
(SUB-SUPPLIER) services under responsibility of main VENDOR
SHALL The word “Shall” is to be understood as a mandatory requirement.
SHOULD The word “Should” is to be understood as strongly recommended.
MAY The word “May” is to be understood as an action to be undertaken at
CONTRACTOR / COMPANY ‘s discretion and upon evaluation of a review of
the circumstances of the issue in question.

the offshore Topside Piping. This document shall be read in conjunction with Specification for Manual

NOTES :
1. Valves shall be provided in accordance with this Valve Data Sheet and Specification for Manual Valves doc no, 200-20-PI-SPC-00006. Any conflicts or deviations

2. Soft materials used for seats and seals shall be AED type and compatible with the service and design conditions indicated.
3. Flange face finish shall be in line with ASME B16.5 requirements.
4. Threaded end connection shall be in line with ANSI/ASME standard B1.20.1 requirements.
5. A differential hardness of at least 50 HB points between metal to metal mating surfaces is required to prevent galling.
6. Hydrostatic test pressure shall be based on pressure rating as per ASME B 16.34.
7. All valves shall be marked as per applicable specifications and in addition shall be marked with valve tag number by die stamping, SS316 material shall be used for
valve tagging.
8. Mating nuts and threaded stud recesses shall be tapped oversize to the extent necessary to prevent damage to the coating on fastener during assembly.
9. All metallic components in contact with production fluids shall comply with ISO 15156/NACE MR0175 requirements and 200-20-CE-SPC-00003 - Material
Requirements for Sour Service.
10. Bore for primary & secondary ball valve shall be 10 mm (min)

2. Soft materials used for seats and seals shall be AED type and compatible with the service and design conditions indicated.
3. Flange face finish shall be in line with ASME B16.5 requirements.

5. A differential hardness of at least 50 HB points between metal to metal mating surfaces is required to prevent galling.

2. Soft materials used for seats and seals shall be AED type and compatible with the service and design conditions indicated.
3. Flange face finish shall be in line with ASME B16.5 requirements.
4. Threaded end connection shall be in line with ANSI/ASME standard B1.20.1 requirements.
5. A differential hardness of at least 50 HB points between metal to metal mating surfaces is required to prevent galling.
6. Hydrostatic test pressure shall be based on pressure rating as per ASME B 16.34.

NOTES :
1. Valves shall be provided in accordance with this Valve Data Sheet and Specification for Manual Valves doc no, 200-20-PI-SPC-00006. Any conflicts or deviations
shall be brought to COMPANY’s attention for resolution.
2. Soft materials used for seats and seals shall be AED type and compatible with the service and design conditions indicated.
3. Flange face finish shall be in line with ASME B16.5 requirements.
4. Threaded end connection shall be in line with ANSI/ASME standard B1.20.1 requirements.
5. A differential hardness of at least 50 HB points between metal to metal mating surfaces is required to prevent galling.
6. Hydrostatic test pressure shall be based on pressure rating as per ASME B 16.34.
7. All valves shall be marked as per applicable specifications and in addition shall be marked with valve tag number by die stamping, SS316 material shall be used for
valve tagging.
8. Mating nuts and threaded stud recesses shall be tapped oversize to the extent necessary to prevent damage to the coating on fastener during assembly.
9. Painting detail requirements and Acceptable Paint Manufacturers and Product Identification shall be in accordance with Painting specification 200-20-CE-SPC-
00001. Any conflicts or deviations shall be brought to COMPANY’s attention for resolution.
10. Bore for primary & secondary ball valve shall be 10 mm (min)
11. Gaskets & Bolting shall be in accordance with Specification for Bolts, Nuts and Gaskets doc no, 200-20-PI-SPC-00009.
