With the assistance of your atlas, familiarize yourself with the following:

A. CLAVICLE BONE:
Identify the following landmarks on the Clavicle Bone
• Sternal End
o Impression of the costoclavicular Ligament
• Acromial End
o Conoid tubercle- Attachment of the Conoid Ligament
o Trapezoid line- Attachment of the Trapezoid Ligament
• Superior Surface (Smooth)
• Inferior Surface (Rough)
• Subclavian Groove
Be able to side the Clavicle Bone

B. SCAPULA BONE:
Identify the following Landmarks on the Scapula:
• Spine of the scapula
• Supraspinous fossa
• Infraspinous fossa
• Subscapular fossa
• Borders:
o Medial border
o Lateral border
o Superior border (with suprascapular notch)
• Angles
o Superior angle
o Inferior angle
o Acromial angle
• Coracoid process
• Acromion
• Glenoid cavity

C. HUMERUS BONE:
Identify the three parts of the Humerus:
• The proximal end
• The shaft
• The distal end

Identify the following Landmarks on the proximal end of the Humerus:


• Head of humerus
• Anatomical neck
• Surgical neck
• Lesser tubercle
• Greater tubercle
• Intertubecular groove/ sulcus (bicipital groove)

Identify the following Landmarks on the shaft of the Humerus:


• Deltoid tuberosity
• Radial groove- Obliquely Posteriorly

Identify the following Landmarks on the distal end of the Humerus:


• Medial Supracondylar ridge
• Lateral Supracondylar ridge
• Medial Epicondyle
• Lateral Epicondyle
• Condyle of humerus
o Capitulum
o Trochlea
o Coronoid fossa
o Olecranon fossa
o Radial fossa

D. ULNA BONE:
Identify the three parts of the Ulna:
• The proximal end
• The shaft
• The distal end

Identify the following Landmarks on the proximal end of the Ulna:

• Trochlear notch
• Olecranon
• Coronoid process
• Tuberosity of Ulna
• Radial Notch
• Supinator crest

Identify the following Landmarks on the shaft of the Ulna:


• Anterior border
• Medial border
• Interosseous (lateral) border
• Anterior surface
• Medial surface
• Posterior surface

Identify the following Landmarks on the distal end of the Ulna:


• Head of Ulna
• Styloid process (medially)

E. RADIUS BONE:
Identify the three parts of the Radius:
• The proximal end
• The shaft
• The distal end

Identify the following Landmarks on the proximal end of the Radius:


• Head of radius
• Neck of Radius
• Radial Tuberosity

Identify the following Landmarks on the shaft of the Radius:


• Interosseous border

Identify the following Landmarks on the distal end of the Radius:


• Ulnar notch

F. HAND BONES:
Identify the 8 Carpal bones:
• Proximal Row- From lateral to medial:
o Scaphoid (largest in proximal row)
o Lunate
o Triquetrum
o Pisiform (lies on palmar surface of triquetrum
• Distal Row- From lateral to medial:
o Trapezium
o Trapezoid
o Capitate (largest carpal bone)
o Hamate

Identify the metacarpal bones


• From I-V laterally

Identify the phalanges:


• Proximal
• Middle
• Distal
Which digit only has two phalanges?
• Name them

G. JOINTS:

Identify, classify, and name the bones/ articular surfaces of the following
joints
• Sternoclavicular joint
• Acromioclavicular joint
• Shoulder (glenohumeral) joint
• Elbow joint
• Radioulnar joints
• Wrist joint
