1.0 OBJECTIVE:
WORK METHOD STATEMENT
(WMS)

This work method statement covers the temporary evaporative cooler for Proposed
Improvement of Existing Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) System
Including Installation and Commissioning of New Chilled Water Control Valves,
Replacement of Air Handling Units and Associated Works at Kl International Airport,
Sepang, Selangor Darul Ehsan.
This work method statement provides information concerning method of application to ensure
compliance with contract requirements and drawings besides to perform safe working
environment and compliance with safety requirements.

7.2 INSTALLATION
7.2.1 The temporary air cooler unit is to be delivered by lorry to a designated location.
7.2.2 The temporary air cooler will be tested for performance before being assigned to its
designated service area.
7.2.3 The area effected after AHU shutdown is located and the nearest power supply is
to be identified accordingly.
7.2.4 The portable DB is to be inspected before plug in to the power supply.
7.2.5 The temporary air cooler's water compartment is filled with water from the nearest
toilet.
7.2.6 To avoid electric shock and water drip on the floor, the temporary air cooler should
be wiped clean of any water drip.
7.2.7 Place a portable tray under the temporary air cooler to avoid any water leakage
dripping on to the floor
7.2.8 The temporary air cooler is to be plug in to the portable DB and if the any
crossover cable from the power source, the cable is to be taped tidily to the floor to
avoid any trip and fall incident.
7.2.9 The temporary is then switched on to maintain the temperature throughout the area
while improvement work is commencing.
7.2.10 After the improvement work is finished, the temporary air cooler is to be turned off
and allocated to the next location.
7.2.11 The procedure from 3.1.1 to 3.1.10 is repeated for the next location.

8.0 SAFETY MEASUREMENT


i. All work is prohibited to start before receiving Permit to Work (PTW) by the Building Owner/
Project Owner.
ii. Use the proper tool for the job. Worker needs to avoid the first impulse to use whatever tool
(or object) is around you to get a work task done. Using the wrong tool for the job can result in
an injury or damage to the tool which can lead to an injury in the future.
iii. All worker is to make sure chemicals are properly labelled and stored. Improper labelling and
storage can lead to injuries or property loss due to fires, corrosion, etc.
iv. All workers need to stay alert of any potential hazards such as dangerous substance and
confined spaces, so that measures can be developed to eliminate and minimize the risks.
v. All the workers must ensure that the working area is cleaned and is in safe condition after the
work is completed.
