PART-B
A company is manufacturing two different types of products, A and B.
Each product has to be processes on two machines M1 and M2, Product
A requires 2 hours on machine M1 and 1 hour on machine M2, product B
requires 1 hour on machine M1 and 2 hours on machine M2. The
2 a L4 CO1 [12M]
available capacity of machine M1 is 104 hours and that of machine M2 is
76 hours. Profit per unit for product A is Rs.6 and that for B is Rs.11.

processing of ‘n’ jobs through two machines?
Six jobs go first over Machine-I and then over Machine-II. The orders of
completion of jobs have no significance. The following gives the
6 machine times in hours for six jobs and the two machines. Find the

a What are the various types of Inventories? Explain briefly? L1 CO4 [6M]
A shopkeeper has a uniform demand for an item at the rate of 50 items
per month. He buys from supplier at a cost of Rs.6 per item and the cost
of ordering is Rs.10 each time. If the stock holding costs are 20% per
8 year of stock value, how frequently should he replenish his stocks? Now

999 items and a 10% discount on orders exceeding or equal to 1000. Can
the shop keeper reduce his costs by taking advantage of either of these
discounts?
