Company Profile

History:
In the year 1889, a corporate entity, The Delhi Cloth & General Mills Company Limited, was
founded. The entity was after passage of several years named as DCM Limited. The story of
DCM was one of constant endeavor to achieve economic independence and viability. In all
phases of development, its story closely paralleled, that of India. All the landmarks in the
history of DCM are mirrored in the industrial progress of the country. The name DCM was
synonymous with Excellence, Quality, Integrity, Environmental consciousness and
pioneering spirit.

A century later in the year 1989, the conglomerate that DCM was, restructured into four
companies through a Scheme of Arrangement. DCM Shriram Industries Limited was one of
the four companies, which inherited the century old legacy of DCM. DCM Shriram Industries
Limited commenced its operations from 1st April, 1990.

corporate management, and technological sophistication & above all the goodwill & loyalty

DCM Shriram Industries Limited is a diversified group with operations in Sugar, Alcohol, Co-
generation of Power, Organic and Inorganic Chemicals, Drug Intermediates, Industrial Fibres
and Engineering Projects related to Defence production.

BUSINESS GROUPS:

Shriram Rayons:
Shriram Rayons was set up in 1965 to produce rayon tyre cord. The engineering and design
was provided by Chemtex Inc., USA and Beaunit Fibres Inc., USA. Over the years, this facility
has been upgraded and modernized to meet the stringent quality requirements of reputed
international tyre giants, our customers.

Shriram Rayons is amongst the world's major manufacturers of high tenacity rayon tyre cord
with state of the art twisting, weaving and dipping facilities.

It also has integrated Nylon conversion with modern treating facilities catering to the needs
of overseas and domestic customers. It also has a complex for the manufacture of inorganic
chemicals.

Defence:
DCM Shriram Industries Limited, known for its century old legacy in contributing towards
nation building have forayed into designing, developing and manufacturing multiple role
tactical armored vehicle systems under the brand name ‘ZEBU’.
‘ZEBU’ Armored Vehicle Systems is the first Make in India venture which has unique strength
and diverse features. Our aim is to serve the Indian Defence and Homeland Security Forces
and also globally export the vehicles for similar strategic purposes.

Shipping Containers:
Think containers, think DCMHL-HVGPL, a joint venture between DCM Shriram Industries
Ltd., India, and Hyundai Mobis, Korea, set up in 1993 to manufacture all types of containers.

DCM Shriram Industries is a part of DCM Shriram Group and has diversified business
interests, including Sugar, Alcohol, Rayon, Industrial Fibre and Fine Chemicals.

LEADERSHIP

Sh. Alok B. Shriram, Senior Managing Director & CEO, DCM


Shriram Industries Ltd.

Mr. Alok is the Senior Managing Director and CEO of DCM Shriram
Industries Ltd., a part of The Shriram Group, a 125-year-old Delhi
based conglomerate started by Lala Shriram, a doyen of Indian
Industry. The company has units namely Daurala Sugar Works,
Daurala Organics, Shriram Rayons, and Daurala Food and
Beverages, and DCM Hyundai Ltd. The Shriram Group has also been instrumental in setting
up several educational institutions such as Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Shri Ram
College of Commerce, The Shri Ram School, and I.P College for Women amongst others.
He was the former President of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry-a 110-year-old
National chamber based in Delhi having offices in 20 states and union territories. PHDCCI
has over 48,000 members directly and indirectly and serves the interest of the MSME
sector. He is also a member of the prestigious Rotary Club of Delhi Premiere.

Kanika Shriram, President, DCM Shriram Industries Ltd.

Kanika Shriram is the 5th generation promoter from the erstwhile


DCM legacy. She is currently managing the dynamic technical textiles
division which is a cross section of chemical, textile and automotive
industries. Prior to this, she was with Harley Davidson Motor
Company as a Manager – Marketing for close to two years and with
Edelman as an Account Manager for over four years. She started her career with Publicis
Advertising as a Trainee. Kanika has completed her Master of Arts, Corporate
Communications and Marketing from Kingston University and Bachelor of Arts, Philosophy
from Lady Shriram College, New Delhi.

Rudra Shriram, Joint President, DCM Shriram Industries Ltd.

Rudra is a 5th Generation promoter from the erstwhile DCM


legacy. He is currently managing a dynamic sheet metal fabrication
and engineering design facility. Rudra is skilled in data analysis, de-
bottlenecking and engineering management. He holds a Bachelor
of Science, focused in Economics from Purdue University - Krannert
School of Management. He has done his schooling from Mayo College, Ajmer.

Job Profile:

DCM Shriram Industries Ltd. is looking to bring on board a seasoned and astute business
professional to ideate, support and lead strategic plans & growth-oriented work streams for
the group.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing, prioritising, executing, communicating,


and sustaining strategic initiatives that create mid to long term improvement within the
organization, in close consultation with promoters.

As the Lead Strategic Partnerships, focusing on acquisitions and investments, the incumbent
will play a critical role in driving the company's growth through strategic partnerships.

Key Relationships:
• Internal: Promoters
• External: Project Consultants, Corporates, Start-ups, Investors etc.
Key Responsibilities

• Implementing the company’s expansion and growth strategy


• Identifying and evaluating opportunities for diversification and business growth through
organic or inorganic route within the manufacturing / allied sector.
• Facilitating and driving key strategic initiatives through their inception phase till the
execution phase
• Partnering closely with promoter group to develop and implement partnership strategies
that drive the promoters’ growth objectives.
• Mobilizing and managing teams of individuals charged with the executing strategies
• Acting as a key resource across the group to enhance the strategic edge of the enterprise
• Planning & executing strategic change management, including communication of the
strategic roadmap to all internal and external stakeholders, to the extent required, such
that its impact on the stakeholder is sufficiently understood and the necessary buy-in is
achieved
• Translating strategies into actionable plans and ensure discipline and commitment in
execution, follow-through and monitoring for quantitative and qualitative results and
impact
• Reviewing key priorities and projects periodically to ensure desired results are achieved
and meet quality, schedule, and budget objectives
• Using modeling, fact based/research solutions and business analysis techniques to
identify and/or analyze business opportunities, expansion & growth agendas.

• Conducting thorough market research and analysis to assess the feasibility, potential

• Conducting comprehensive financial analysis, including valuation models, due diligence,

• Negotiation and Deal Execution: have negotiations with potential partners, acquisition
targets, and investment opportunities based on accepted plans. Collaborate closely with
legal, finance, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure successful deal execution
• Cultivating and maintaining relationships with potential partners, industry peers,
investment banks, and other relevant stakeholders to source partnership opportunities,
gain market intelligence, and stay informed about emerging trends and competitive
landscapes
• Post-Partnership Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth
integration and realization of synergies post-partnership. Develop and implement
integration plans to maximize operational efficiencies and capture value from shared
resources and capabilities
• Keeping up to date on market trends, industry dynamics, technological advancements,
and regulatory changes that may impact potential partnership opportunities. Providing
strategic guidance on emerging opportunities and risks to the promoter group. Keeping
track of competition and potential partners and markets
• Reporting and Presentations: Preparing reports, presentations, and updates on
partnership activities, financial analysis, and progress towards strategic goals for the
promoter group.

Qualifications and Skills:


• The candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Analytics, business
administration, finance, accounting, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree
with a finance focus will be desirable
• Strong analytical skills coupled with a good commercial sense to understand the
viability of the propositions
• Proven track record in establishing successful strategic partnerships.
• Proven track record in strategic acquisitions, or investments, with a focus on financial
analysis, deal execution, and post-partnership integration in the manufacturing
domain
• Strong financial acumen, with the ability to conduct comprehensive financial analysis
and valuation
• Excellent negotiation and deal-making skills, with a track record of successfully closing
partnerships or acquisitions
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities to foster partnerships
