Remote Access Software Installation
Instructions
Remote Access Software (RAS) installs an application that lets you communicate remotely
with CR or DR systems using the features of the Remote Key Operator or the Remote
Patient Data Entry Systems (RPDES) (not available on all products). The installation
instructions for Remote Access Software assume that the reader has administrator rights,
and is qualified to install software on the computer.
For information about using the Remote Key Operator, see the Online Help installed with
your system.

System Requirements
Computer Requirements
• WINDOWS 8, WINDOWS 7, WINDOWS XP Professional Service Pack 3
• INTERNET EXPLORER V6.0 and higher
• 3 GHz processor or greater
• 1024 MB RAM or greater
• 1280 x 1024 resolution monitor

Note
Log in as an Administrator. Be sure you have the Remote Access Software installation disc
containing the software and installation instructions in multiple languages. Depending on the
number of software components that need to be installed, the installation takes approximately
30 minutes.

Uninstall the Previous Version of Software


If a previous version of RAS is installed on the computer, it must be uninstalled before
installing the new version using the WINDOWS Add/Remove Programs function.
1. Click Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
2. Select CARESTREAM RAS Vx.x.xx.
3. Select Remove.

Install RAS Vx.x.xx Software


1. Close all WINDOWS Operating System programs.
2. Insert the Remote Access System Installation CD into the CD/DVD drive.
3. Double-click CCPlatform_x.x.xx.xxxx_RAS.exe.
4. Read the instructions on the Welcome screen and click Next.

5. Click Install to accept the default destination directory and begin the Remote Access
Software installation.

6. The Remote Access Software installation starts.

Note
The progress bar on the Installing screen indicates the status of the installation of each
component. This status screen stays active until all components are installed. These components
include:
• MICROSOFT Visual C++ 2010 Redistribution Package
• DotNET Framework 4.0
• DotNET Framework 3.5 (Manually install on WINDOWS 8)
• DotNET Framework KB958484
• WINDOWS Installer 3.1 V2.

7. When the files have been installed, the following screen appears. Click Reboot Now
and click Finish to restart the system.

The installation is complete.

Start Remote Access Software


Prerequisites:
The installation of Remote Access Software Vx.x.xx is complete and the system has been
restarted.

1. Go to Key Operator Functions > System Configuration > Remote Devices


Configuration screen.
2. Go to the screen at the main Console and enter the IP address of this computer.
3. Verify that the following ports are open to these IP addresses:
56333, 14472, 999, and 9100–9200
At this computer, start Internet Explorer and enter your CR or DR system IP address.

Note
To locate the IP address of the CR or DR system, navigate to the Main Menu > Utilities >
System Status screen, as follows:

Add :56333/

Enter your IP address

Internet Protocol

Note
Verify that the machine that has RAS installed can ping the Console it connects to by both the IP
address and the machine name.
