Part A
1. a) Give at least 5 reasons why SCM has drawn lot of strategic attention, especially post-covid. Your
response should be specific to a product or specific service. Mention the product/service you are referring
to.

b) Take a specific product or service. Visit the details of PM Gatishakti on the web and write how PM
Gatishakti platform is going to transform the SC of the product you have chosen. Support your arguments
with data and facts. Mention all your web resources with proper link.

Pick up any company. See the annual report/financial statements of the company for last 2 years (2021-
22 and 2022-23).
You are hired as an external consultant to evaluate the supply chain performance of this company on a
scale of 1 to 10 (!0 – Excellent, 1: Poor). . Your assessment should be based on a few parameters.
Decide these parameters and make a template to assess the overall SC performance of the company.
Justify the parameters. You should make a categorical statement about the performance based on these
two years.

3. Compare and contrast the supply chain of an FMCG product versus supply chain of a consumer durables
(like refrigerator /washing machine etc.) in India. Your comparison should be on at least 5 attributes and
should be in a tabular form.

4. Take a product/service. With respect to this product describe in details, any one cycle (Procurement
cycle, manufacturing cycle, customer order cycle etc.) . Draw a flow chart of the various processes
 involve in the cycle. Articulate importance of Cycle view of the supply chain with respect to the chosen
product/service.

5. Choose an item you use in your daily life (Like toothbrush, soap, Towel etc.) . List the raw materials
needed to make it and how these raw materials come together to form the finished product. Also explore
what kind of transportation is used to get the final product to you.
Now specifically answer the following questions:
1. What are the raw materials needed for this product? Where are they found?
2. What are the steps involved in making this product? Where does each step in the production take
place?
3 What energy is needed to produce this item? Where does that energy come from?
4. What kind of transportation, if any, is needed at each stage of the production process, including
getting the finished product to you?
5. What are the challenges in the supply hain of this product?
