Since 1988, World Education Program (WEP) has been driven by the same
motto : learn & discover the world ! It has already changed the lives of
thousands of young people who have travelled around the globe on all kinds
of educational programs and projects.

At WEP, we strongly believe in the infinite enrichment of a better knowledge of the world, its
multiple cultures, languages, lifestyles. Through the years, WEP has developed and offered a
wide choice of international educational experiences ranging from language courses or student
exchange programs to volunteering programs, farmstays, internship programs, etc. Whether it

1. NORMANDY
Main city : Rouen
Specialties : cider, camembert cheese,
apple pastries ...
Normandy is situated between the Channel
and the Paris basin and has been the wel-
coming harbour of civilizations through the
Seine Valley to Paris. It is best known for
its coasts, green meadows and cider. The
region’s name originates from the Viking
Norsemen back in the 9th century and it
is officially divided in two parts, “Haute et
Basse Normandie” (High and Low).
2. Hauts-de-france
Main city : Lille
Specialties : waffles, maroilles (cheese),
carbonade (beef stewed in beer), mussels
and french fries ...
Hauts-de-France region is at the northern
tip of France, near France’s border with
Belgium. It features an array of architectur-
al styles with various amounts of Flemish
influence. Lille Cathedral and Lille Palace
of Fine Arts are outstanding attractions.
Lille is an important crossroads in the Eu-
ropean high-speed rail network (1:20 hour
to London, 1 hour to Paris, 38 minutes to
Brussels).

Program
Available in France and Italy, the
“Language Buddy” program offers the
opportunity for participants to become a
conversation friend to a local family while
sharing their everyday life. They may speak
to one or several family members in order
to help them improve their language skills
through conversation. The participant
may also have to assist them with their
homework. The amount of time dedicated
to conversations should be 15 hours/week.
The program is open to English, French,
German or Spanish speakers.
Other languages depend on specific
demand (Italian, Dutch, Chinese,
Japanese...).

Program
The aim of the program is to introduce
language assistants to Italian middle or
high schools and encourage the meeting
of different cultures, as well as improve
the students’ language skills. The teacher
assistant will be shadowing Italian teachers
during classes for 18 hours per week
(spread over 5 or 6 days depending on the
school) which will give the participant the
chance to learn about Italian Education. It
is a useful international job experience that
will enhance the personal CV (curriculum
vitae). Additionally it is a good opportunity
for participants to develop communication/
teaching skills and learn some basics of
Italian.
There is no financial compensation but
participants will receive room and board.
An online orientation will be arranged at
arrival and participants can be placed all
throughout Italy.

 General conditions
The following general conditions apply to all programs described in this brochure, with the exception of the High School Programs (a separate con-
tract is required for these programs).
Services to be performed by the sending organisation
The sending organisation undertakes to :
1. Accurately inform applicants about the terms and conditions of the
programs
2. Require applicants to fill in the WEP generic application form or send-
ing organisation’s application form (if this form has been approved in
writing by WEP beforehand).
3. Ensure that all applicants are fit for the chosen program. WEP reserve
the right to reject or expel any participant who may show a serious
lack of motivation, lack of emotional stability or whose condition or
behavior may put the success of the program or the well-being of
others at risk.
4. Provide applicants with a pre-departure orientation.
5. Follow WEP transportation policy :
a. Provide complete travel information for all participants at least 3
weeks prior arrival
b. Provide return dates and travel details at least one month before
departure from host country
6. Sending organisation will be responsible for payment of funds (for
example telephone bills, damage to property,...) due by participant
and/or natural parents if the participant and/or natural parents fail to
pay the amount due.
7. Work with the WEP program staff in a cooperative manner on all
placement and assistance matters.
8. Ensure all participants have adequate travel insurance coverage : par-
ticipants must have a medical insurance policy for a minimum of USD
500.000 as well as a third part liability insurance policy for a minimum
of USD 1.000.000.
If the organisation is unable to organise such insurance policy for its
participants, WEP will be happy to assist the organisation (a com-
prehensive medical/ repatriation/liability/ luggage insurance can be
provided by WEP at the cost of 50 Euros per month). Request of
coverage by the insurance proposed by WEP must be made in writing
at least one month before participant’s arrival. Written request must
include the participant’s last name, first name, date of birth, national-
ity, sex and coverage duration desired in months. Insurance cards will
only be issued after full payment of the insurance premium.
IF PARTICIPANT OR SENDING ORGANISATION CANNOT PRO-
VIDE PROOF OF INSURANCE UPON PARTICIPANT’S ARRIVAL
IN HOST COUNTRY, WEP WILL ISSUE A MEDICAL INSURANCE
AT THE EXPENSE OF THE PARTICIPANT.
9. Nominate an employee that can be contacted in the event of an
emergency 24 hours a day.
Services to be performed by the receiving organisation
The receiving organisation undertakes to :
1. Confirm the reception of the application form within 48 hours.
2. Participants will be provided acceptance status within two weeks of
receipt of application. Final acceptance status for partially completed
applications will be provided within one week of receipt of missing
information. A candidate is considered accepted by WEP only if WEP
has notified acceptance in writing.
3. To locate a suitable placement for the participant once acceptance in
the program has been confirmed. In the unlikely case that a place-
ment can’t be found for the participant, WEP reserves the right to
cancel his / her participation. In such a case, all fees received will be
refunded.
4. Monitor each program and promptly report any issues to the sending
organisation.
5. Answer all queries / questions from the sending organisation in a
timely manner.
6. Provide a 24 hours emergency line, available to both the participants
and the sending organisation.

Cancellation and financial policies
1. A deposit of 150 euros is due upon acceptance of the application
form. This deposit is non refundable.
2. Once a placement has been confirmed to the sending organisation, a
fee of 250 euros (including the deposit of 150 euros) is due in case of
a cancellation more than 15 days before arrival.
3. Once a placement has been confirmed to the sending organisation,
the program fees are due in full in case of a cancellation less than 15
days before arrival.
4. Any change made to the booking after acceptance of the application
form will incur a change fee of 150 euros.
Method of payment
All payments must be made by bank transfer. Payments CANNOT be
made by cheque. If a payment is received by cheque, WEP will charge
a penality of minimum 100 Euros to cover processing and bank charges.
The details for the bank transfers will be given with each invoices.
All bank fees are to be covered by the sending organisation.
Indemnification
This agreement shall not be deemed to create any relationship by which
organisation might be liable for the commissions or omissions of WEP.

tion.
Communications
All communications regarding daily operations must be directed to the
WEP local office. International Marketing office is available to the organ-
isation for: International marketing matters, Fees, Assistance in case of
conflict with a WEP local office. The organisation agree not to contact
directly or set up direct cooperation with the local office, local coordina-
tors, teachers, local representatives, host families… in the host country.
Governing law
This Agreement contains the entire agreement between the parties with
respect to the subject matter of this Agreement and shall be governed
by the laws of Belgium, especially by the “Tribunal du 6ème canton de
Bruxelles à Saint Gilles, Belgique”. In case of different, only this court of
Saint Gilles, Brussels will be competent. It may not be changed orally,
but only by an agreement in writing signed by the party against whom
enforcement of any waiver, change, modification or discharge is sought.
Data protection
WEP will process any data provided by you in accordance with the Gen-
eral Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679 of April 27th 2016.
We will use this information solely for the purpose of the organisation
of the program and will exchange any relevant data with you for that
sole purpose. Data will only be shared with individuals or institutions
that need this data for the proper organisation of the program of your
participants. Should a participant decide not to proceed with you/us,
their personal information will be archived for a period of 7 years (legal
requirement) and then deleted from our system.
Please refer to our full GDPR policy on our website
(http://wepinternational.org/charterpersonaldata.html). Its content
should be shared with each potential participant and his/her legal
guardians.
Use of image
It is essential for us to be able to use the image of your participants so
we can find host families for them. By signing this contract you confirm
to WEP that you have obtained a legal autorisation for any participant
(and his/her legal guardian) submitted to WEP, allowing WEP to use
pictures of the participant for the purpose of promoting the inbound
program in general and presenting each of your participants in particu-
lar through profiles towards potential host families and schools through
targeted mailing, emailing or social network campaigns. If you did not
obtain such autorisation before submitting a participant to WEP, WEP
will not accept any liability in case of complaint and we will hold you
liable for all cost or damages caused to WEP in this matter.
