I. COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course deals with the study on educational organizations, their characteristics and
functions and other forces that contribute to the accomplishment of goals. It also concerned with
activities and styles of educational manager. Likewise, it is directed to delve on the professional
management of school administrators in terms of their knowledge and skills.
Organizational analysis emphasizes conceptual models and the ways we can overlay
these models on real institutional contexts and problems. In addition to understanding and
applying these conceptual frames, we also explore issues on leadership and organizational
change.

II. COURSE OBJECTIVES

After the completion of this course, graduate students shall be able to:

 Analyze and interpret the theories, principles, policies and goals of organization and
management of the school system.
 Discuss the perimeter and relationship between organization and management.
 Apply organizational theory to institutional problems and situations.
 To describe the various external influences that impact educational organizations and the
many differences among organizations within basic education in terms of structure,
culture, politics, and human resources.
 To articulate the important of applying an organizational lens to issue and topics related
to curricula, faculty, students, and other basic education.
 To apply skills of analysis, synthesis, and communication to issues and ideas salient to
organizations.
 Apply in real situation the knowledge and skills learned in this course.
