1. The presentation will be held on May 23, 2023, from 4 PM to 6 PM. Depending on
the number of submissions, the presentations will be organised into parallel sessions.
2. Awards will be given out, including Best Abstract and Best Presenter.

C. TOPICS AND CATEGORIES

1. The projects must be relevant to the subject PHYSICAL SCIENCES. Applied and
developmental research projects must be technically sound and innovative
2. The categories are the following:
a. Forces and Motion
b. Uniform Circular Motion
c. Aerospace Physics
d. Thermodynamics
e. Fluids
3. Each pair can choose any of the following categories

D. CRITERIA AND JUDGING

1. The judges will be provided with research rubrics for judging. Entries shall be
judged according to scholarly criteria:
a. Applicability (35%)
b. Innovation (30%)
c. Technical Soundness (25%)
d. Presentation (10%)
2. Entries shall be judged by a panel of at least three judges:
a. an inventor
b. an entrepreneur/venture capitalist, and
c. an engineer/technology expert
3. The judges’ decision shall be final and not subject to appeal

E. AWARDING AND REWARDS

1. Winning entries shall be awarded with certificates and cash prizes during the
closing ceremonies of the congress.

7th-9th Place80%

F. POSTER
Poster should be readable from a distance, attractive, well-organised, self-explanatory,
and should present only the main ideas. Do not overwhelm the audience with cluttered data
or explanations. The purpose of a poster is to illustrate an explanation of your research to a
viewer. The researchers must be present throughout the event. The guidelines of the poster
are the following:
1. SIZE. The poster shall be presented in an any size tarpaulin
2. TEXT LETTERING. Use simple fonts and sizes that are at least 20 points (about 6
mm high)
3. TEXT COLOR. There shall be no restrictions on the numbers of color. Dark type on
light, plain background is easiest to read. Tips: Good two-colour combinations are black on
white, black on yellow, black on pink, dark red on white, dark blue on white, and dark blue on
yellow.
4. ILLUSTRATIONS. Figures, charts, and graphs should be at least 5” and 7” (12.5
cm x 18 cm). Captions and labels on diagrams should be readable from two meters away,
and not cluttered with unnecessary details. Diagrams and graphs should have no more thatn
6 lines in contrasting colors. Use only one vertical scale per graph. Graphs are preferable to
tables.
5. ORGANISATION. The design should flow sequentially form one part to the next.
Numbers or arrows may be used to hep the eye move from item in the correct order. Left to
right, top to bottom. Do not clutter with either texts or artworks.
6. ELEMENTS OF A POSTER
a. TITLE and AUTHOR
Use font size of 72 points (about 2 cm) for the main title and 40 points
(less than 1 cm) for subtitles and author/s.
b. ABSTRACT
Identify what is being studied, how are you studying it, and the variables
used in the study. State the problems and objectives of the study. State your findings.
c. INTRODUCTION
State the relevant background and description of the area of the study.
Generally one or two paragraphs that end with a clear statement of the predictions that you
tested
d. MATERIALS AND METHODS
Present the basic experimental design. Describe the materials and the
methods employed. Include diagram or figure that will help clarify your methods.
e. RESULTS and DISCUSSION
Describe the data collected and statistical methods used in analysing
your data. Generally composed of figures, charts, tables and one paragraph discussion
f. CONCLUSION and RECOMMENDATION
Relate the research to other researched in the are of study and describe
the contribution made by the study. Offer future suggestions generated by your results and
the significance of the results to other areas of science. Generally composed of one or two
paragraphs.
g. REFERENCES
Provide a list of references cited in the poster. Use IEEE 2006 citation
and bibliography format
h. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Acknowledges and thank the funding agency, individuals, and other
funding resources that contributed to the accomplishment of the research
G. INSTALLATION OF POSTER and PROJECTS
All posters and projects should be set up on May 23, 2022 1:00 PM. The presenters
are requested to bring their own poster stands. Posting venue shall be designated.
