Introduction
Motorola
has
released
a
new,
redesigned,
and
simplified
firmware
for
the
2247-‐N8
DSL
Wi-‐Fi
Gateway.
The
new
firmware
makes
it
easier
to
set
up,
configure
and
troubleshoot
the
2247-‐N8.
Follow
the
steps
below
to
update
your
2247-‐N8
from
version
9.0.1h2d9
to
version
9.1.1h0d34.
Before
You
Begin
Please
download
the
documentation,
firmware
files
and
release
notes
listed
below
before
you
start.
You
will
need
the
new
documentation
to
configure
the
2247-‐N8
with
the
new
firmware.
Both
firmware
files
are
needed
in
order
to
move
to
the
latest
firmware.
You
may
want
to
download
the
files
to
your
computer’s
desktop
so
that
they
are
easy
to
find
during
the
upgrade
process.
IMPORTANT:
• If
you
do
not
have
wireless
security
enabled
on
your
2247-‐N8
gateway,
it
will
automatically
be
enabled
once
you
complete
the
upgrade
to
9.1.1h0d34.
The
default
key
is
the
Device
Access
Code
located
on
a
label
on
the
bottom
of
the
gateway.
If
you
already
have
security
enabled,
the
settings
you
have
previously
saved
will
be
used.
Please
see
the
user
guide
for
more
information
about
wireless
security.
• If
you
are
using
multiple
SSIDs
(this
is
not
common)
you
must
delete
all
but
the
primary
(SSID1)
SSID
before
upgrading.
The
9.1.1h0d34
firmware
supports
a
single
SSID
only
but
allows
the
administrator
to
restrict
access
for
wireless
clients.
See
the
user
guide
for
information
about
the
Restricted
Hosts
feature.
Please
make
sure
you
have
the
Motorola
2247-‐N8
documentation
and
firmware
files
listed
below
before
beginning
the
upgrade
process.
