Caringin Geoelectric

Based on the material that you sent, the A-B subsurface rock line section (Figure-1) and C-D subsurface rock
line section (Figure-2) are roughly made by the interpolation of the resistivity value of vertical section of
each GL (Figure-3). However determining the subsurface rock line of lithology or rock is mostly subjective or
it can be different interpreted personally.

Whereas the output of geoelectric is usually 2D or even 3D section showing the distribution of subsurface
lithology or rock, which represented by different color. Different color indicates the different value of
resistivity of lithology or rock. The higher resistivity value the less porous of the lithology.

The fault could be interpreted by the contrast or significant resistivity value of lithology or rock. Because
the fault is usually cut the rock and displace or shift the rock, so that laterally can show a discontinuity
pattern of materials. Determining fault is also supported by field observation and aerial photograph.

The example of the output of geoelectric data processing which shows fault can be seen below. Based on
that pictures, there is a discontinuity pattern and contrast resistivity value which is represented by different
color.
The example of the output of geoelectric data processing which shows no fault. There is a continuity
pattern of material. The geoelectric data processing doesn’t show contrast or significant resistivity value of
lithology or rock.
