1. reminded: “Remember / Don’t forget to do sth.”-> S + reminded sb. to do sth.


Eg: “Don’t forget to phone me tonight” she said-> She reminded me to phone her that night
(# S + reminded sb. of doing sth.)
2. Invited: Mêi ai ®i ®©u lµm g×
-> “Would you like to do sth.?” -> S + invited sb. to do sth.
Eg: “Would you like to go to the cinema with me next weekend” she said
-> She invited me to go to the cinema with her the next weekend
3. offered: Mêi ai ¨n uèng c¸i g×
-> “Would you like sth.?” -> S + offered sb. sth.
Eg: Would you like a glass of beer?” he said -> He offered me a glass of beer
Notes: Ta dung cÊu tróc S + offered to do sth. cã nghÜa lµ ®Ò nghÞ lµm g× khi c©u trùc tiÕp cã d¹ng:
“ Shall I do sth. (for you) ?”
“ Can I help you with sth.?”
“ Would you like me to do sth. (for you)?”
Eg: “Shall I cook dinner for you?” she said -> She offered to cook dinner for me
4. Advised: Khuyªn ai lµm / kh«ng lµm g×
-> “You’d better/ should / ought to do sth.”
-> “If I were you, I would do sth.” -> S + advised sb. to do sth.
-> “Why don’t you do sth.?”
Eg: “You’d better buy a new car!” he said-> He advised me to buy a new car

How / what about +v-ing?
Let’s +V
Why don’t we + V? -> S + suggested + V-ing
Shall we +V? (Gîi ý lµm g× cã sù tham gia cña S)
Eg: “Why don’t we go to the cinema tonight?” he said-> He suggested going to the cinema that night
# S + suggested that sb. (should) do sth.: Gîi ai ®ã nªn lµm g× khong cã sù tham gia cña S
Eg: “Why don’t you go to see a doctor?” he said to me -> He suggested thst I should go to see a doctor
( Note: CÊu tróc “Why don’t you do sth.?” ngoµi c¸ch chuyÓn víi “advised”, ta cã thÓ chuyÓn S + suggested that sb. should do
sth.)
* NÕu ®ång ý: S + agreed
* NÕu khong ®ång ý: S + was/ were against it/ S + opposed the idea / S + objected
Eg: “ Let’s go out tonight!” she said
“Yes, let’s” he said -> She suggested going out that night and he agreed/ but he was against it
“No” he said
6. Goodbye: “Goodbye!” “Bye bye!” “See you again!” “See you later!” “See you soon!”
-> S + said goodbye to sb.
Eg: “Googbye” she said to me-> She said goodbye to me
7. Wished: “Good luck!” -> S + wished sb. luck
Eg: “Good luck” I said to her -> I wished her luck
8. Welcomed: “ Welcome to my house!” she said -> She welcomed us to her house
9. Greeted: “Hello” “Hi” “Good morning” -> S + greeted sb.
Eg: “Hello” she said to me-> She greeted me
10. Congratulated: “ Congratulations!” -> S + congratulated sb. (on sth./ on doing sth.)
11. Thanked: “ Thanks” “Thank you” -> S + thanked sb.
12. Asked for: Yªu cÇu, hái xin c¸I g×
“ Can / could I have sth.?” -> S + asked sb. for sth.
Eg: “Can I have another cake, Mum?”the boy said -> The boy asked his mother for another cake
13. “ Would you mind + V-ing?” -> C1: S + asked sb. if / whether sb. would mind V-ing
-> C2: S + asked sb. + to V
Eg: “Would you mind closing the window?” she said
-> She asked me if I would mind closing the window/ to close the window
14. C©u c¶m th¸n:
“ How + adj / adv + S + V!”-> S + exclaimed that S + V + (so) + adj / adv
Eg: “How difficult the exam is!” she said -> She exclaimed that the exam was (so) difficult
“ What +(a/an) + adj + N + S + V!” -> S + exclaimed that S + V + (such a / an ) + N
Eg: “What a difficult exam it is!” he said -> He exclaimed that it was (such) a difficult exam
