BELFPRIMING CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS
5) Pump fails to prime
1} Introduction
5.1 Priming chamber empty or not sufficiently full
The B-series pumps are selfprirning centrifugal pumps 5.2 Wrong direction of rotation (see arrow on back of the

The pumps have an e'asy replacable wear plate which, in most 5. 5.. Hose clamps loose or broken
models, is covered with oil and abrasion-resistant rubber.

5.9 Worn or broken impeller

It is advisable to use a suction line of the same diameter as 5.10 Air leaks through damaged mechanical seal (replace the·

h~gh v~scoslty grease.
Foot valve is not necessary because a check valve is incor-
porated in the pump suction ports. 6) Low capacity

Set up the pump as close as possible to the liquid to be 6.1 Suction strainer clogged (clean)
pumped, keep the line as short as possible and avoid
unnecessary curves, elbows and constrictions. This will reduce 6.2 Suction or delivery line obstructed (remove obstruction}

Before starting the pump for the first time, fill the casing 6.5 Rotation speed too low

it is not necessary, to fill the pump again when it is started
