How safe is your community?

There are many safety issues in your community such as pollution,steal,natural disasters and so
on.However,there may be one thing that you have ignored -- the food safety.With the growing
awareness of healthy eating, more and more people now are paying more attention to the
importance of healthy diet and an active life. But at the same time, a growing unrestover food
safety in the China has caugh everyone’s concern.
These years numerous [ˈnju:mərəs] safety incidents happened in China, such as milk scandal
['skændl],poison bean,waste oils,dyeing steamed bread,etc,and there are too many to list.As a
consumer,except anger I got a little sad.There are several reasons of the Chinese food
problems.Firstly,the origin of food has been polluted.Because of the pollution,the quality of
rice,grains,crops,livestock and other agricultural products is affected. Secondly, processing
enterprises didn’t follow the standard to produce the goods,and they use food additive
excessively. Thirdly Chinese laws and regulations are not perfect.The force of law is not
enough and the penalties ['penəltɪ] for illegal workers is low.Last and most important,there are
too many traders who just want to make profits and they have lost the moral bottom line of
public’s safety and health.This is China’s sorrow that some of us lost themselves in the
money and Chinese damage Chinese. These food scandals leaves me a deep ponder (思 考 ). I
think it is very urgent to take effective measures to improve food safety. In my opinion ,every
food producters involved in food safety should set up a high responsibility for the
consumer,related laws should be passed and carried out. Secondly, the government should
strengthen supervision and administration on food safety.More importantly, to those who are
immoral businessmen, more strict punishment should be given. Besides, we consumers
should be more careful in buying food. Only in this way will we have healthy eating and a
harmonious world .I do not hope to see the same accident happens again.
