Attribute Table & Edit Lesson 3

Edit

1- First of all, ArcGIS Pro support editor automatically, no need to start editing like ArcGIS
desktop .

Add Field

• Open attribute by right click of shapefile or from (on the ribbon, click the Data tab).
Calculate Field

Add field

If you have URL or Attached , you can use it .

There are 3 new field Types in Pro


Calculate Geometry (Add Geometry Attributes)

• If you want to calculate X,Y coordinates (WGS-1984) , you can use Add Geometry
Attributes .
1- On the ANALYSIS tab, in the Geoprocessing group, click the Tools .

2- Search about Add Geometry Attributes & run it .


Edit attributes

1- To edit attribute values, open the Attributes, select the features, and edit the values in the attribute
table .Or on the Edit tab in the Selection group, click Attributes .

2- In the Attributes pane, expand the selection tree and click the feature or related records you want to
edit and updates the attributes table.
Save edits

3- When you finish, save it from the Edit tab .


Editor

• On the ribbon of the Edit tab, you can see all edit options:
New Feature

Create new features :


1- To create new features, on the Edit tab in the Features group, click Create .
2- It gives you many options to create line as you see on the below ,

3- To enter attribute values for a new feature before you create it, click the forward arrow
On the active template .

It is the same tools of ArcGIS Desktop 10.3 2- To edit vertices values (coordinate)
1- You can Add & delete vertices from Vertices

Snap

* Snapping :-
• On the Edit tab, Snapping toggles snapping On or Off. The drop-down list enables and
disables snap modes .
• It is the same tools & idea of ArcGIS Desktop .
