Name of Experiment : Familiarization with the components and devices used in Electronics Lab.

Objectives: Familiarization with the components and devices used in Electronics Lab.

Equipment :

1.Trainer Board

2.Resistors (fixed & variable)

3.Capacitor

4.Multimeter

5.DC power supply

6.Transistors (BJT,JFET,MOSFET)

7.Diodes

Details :

Trainer board : A digital electronics trainer is a device or piece of equipment used for teaching
and learning about digital electronics.

Resistors :. A resistor is an electrical component that limits or regulates the flow of electrical
current in an electronic circuit.

Capacitor : A capacitor is a passive electronic component that stores energy in the form of an
electrostatic field.

Multimeter : A digital multimeter is a test tool used to measure two or more electrical values
principally voltage (volts), current (amps) and resistance (ohms). It is a standard diagnostic tool
for technicians in the electrical/electronic industries.

DC power supply : A DC power supply converts AC power from a standard outlet into a stable
DC power source. This regulated direct current is then used to power a device, module or
component.

Transistors : A transistor is a type of semiconductor device that can be used to conduct and
insulate electric current or voltage.

Diodes : A diode is a two-terminal electronic component that conducts electricity primarily in

one direction. It has high resistance on one end and low resistance on the other end.

Discussion : In an Electronics Lab, familiarity with various components and devices is crucial.
These include resistors, capacitors, transistors, diodes, integrated circuits, and power supplies.
Understanding their functions and properties is essential for designing and building circuits.
Additionally, oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, and soldering irons are common
lab tools. Gaining proficiency with these components and devices is vital for successful
experimentation and troubleshooting in the field of electronics.
