Tragic backstory

Dick Hardwood is an old man. He has been familiar with magic since birth, his father taught
him the basic spells and when he was old enough he entered a school for wizards where he
discovered that he had a number of mental disorders. Sometimes he sees things that aren't
there. Dick sometimes imagined lessons that never happened, which is why he was doing so
good in school. He also had imaginary animals living in his bedroom. If you looked closely
you could sometimes see him on the rooftops of the school imagining himself as Batman
fighting crime. He also often got into trouble for damaging roofs or attacking students for no
apparent reason. Despite all his problems, he was an excellent student and was therefore
allowed to stay at the school until the end of his education. When he finished his education
Dick was sent to an institute where they tried helping him with his schizophrenia, but after
only a few days he had escaped from his cell and was again jumping over the roofs towards
the bat signal that was shining bright in the sky. Dick has lived for years as a wizard by day
and a crime fighting bat by night. No one knows exactly how old Dick is, but the stories of
The Batman have been going around for centuries. Dick's age is estimated to be somewhere
between 500 and 700 years old. One cold winter night, as The Batman was once again seen
on the rooftops of the DnD version of Gotham, Dick slipped on a patch of ice he hadn't seen
in the dark. Due to his old age and fragility he broke his back. Even though that was years
ago, Dick never fully recovered from this unfortunate injury and his back is constantly
hurting. Fortunately, Dick has mastered his magic skills so can still continue to fight as a Dnd
wizard. Dick has been going to physical therapy for years now, and doesn’t have much time
to fight crime anymore. Dick is desperately looking for someone to take over his job as the
Batman, with no luck. Until that day, he has to keep parkouring over the rooftops, alone, with
a back injury in his imaginary fight against crime.

Personality traits
Dick likes to swim. Every morning he can be found in the swimming pool near his house.
Thanks to his schizophrenia, he regularly imagines that he is wearing his swimming trunks,
when he is actually swimming naked. Dick says he has won several Olympic swimming
competitions, but in reality, as always, he was alone, swimming naked in the public pool.
Though he might not have won any olympic medals he is quite good at swimming as he
trains for the olympics every day.

Dick doesn’t own a shaver, so over the years his gray beard has grown to a significant
length. To hide his bald spot on top of his head he always wears a hat. And he has a long
coat to store his imaginary rock collection.

Even though he is old, gray and schizophrenic women are naturally attracted to Dick.
Rumors are that it’s because of his name. What can I say? Women love some proper Dick
once in a while.
