I.OBJECTIVES
a. Identify the procedures and techniques of waste management,
b. Perform the procedures and techniques of waste management,
c. Give the importance of applying the procedures and techniques of managing waste in the workplace.
III. PROCEDURE
A.PREPARATION
PRAYER
To check the cleanliness of the room, ventilation, arrangement of chairs, littering and etc.
CHECKING OF ATTENDANCE
To make the near-sighted and slightly-deaf students sits in front and far-sighted at the back. Unusually
quite learners to be given extra attention.
Since there is a learner whose mute, she will be guided and assisted by one of her colleagues.
COLLECTING OF ASSIGNMENTS
To note that absent students will be given learning activity sheet to catch up with the lesson.
Teacher asks the students about the house rules. After, the teacher will emphasize the rules that were
not identified.
1. Be an active listener.
2. Don’t talk if someone is talking.
3. Raise your hands if you want to answer or ask questions.
4. Do not disturb others who are working.
5. Cellphones must be collected and returned after the class.

B.LESSON PROPER
Today, we will be dealing with waste management and following the techniques to promote clean
and safe environment but before that, let us be acquainted to our objectives:
a. Identify the procedures and techniques of waste management,
b. Perform the procedures and techniques of waste management,
c. Give the importance of applying the procedures and techniques of managing waste in the workplace.
In order for us to achieve all of these objectives. I would like you to cooperate in doing all of
the activities. (Remind the students of the house rules)

The teacher will allow the class to read the new terms that the learners will going to encounter
along the way.
ACTIVITY
Group Activity! The teacher will instruct the class about their assigned task. Using the meta-strips in every
group, these will be pasted on the board based on the picture that is already posted on the board. (5 mins)
Group 1: waste segregation

1.How did you attain your answers? Was it difficult? Why? Or why not?
2.Are you familiar with the systematic procedure of waste management? Have you done this process
at home?how about at school?

ABSTRACTION
(The teacher deepens the discussion and distribute the information sheets to each group)
Waste Management : is the collection, transport, processing or disposal,managing and monitoring of waste
materials. The process is undertaken to reduce their effect on health and environment. The management of
wastes treats all materials such as solid,liquid or gaseous substances.
1.Waste Segregation – the process of dividing garbage and waste products in an effort to reduce, re-use and
recycle materials.
3. Re-use is the process of recovering materials intended for some purpose without changing their physical
and chemical appearance.
4. Recycling- is the treatment of waste materials through a process of making them suitable for beneficial use
and other purposes.
5.Composting – is the controlled decomposition of organic matter by microorganism mainly bacteria and fungi
into a humus like product.
6. Waste Disposal – refers to the proper discharge of any solid waste or any land.
Guide Questions:
1.What part of the body is affected if there is negligence of practicing waste management?
2. What is the difference between physical and chemical appearance that is being pertained in the re-
use process?
3.What kind of material that can be recycled? Re-use?
APPLICATION
In this activity, the learners will have to choose their preferred activity regardless of their gender.
(GAD)
Group 1: Waste Segregation
Using the trashes and garbages inside the box, segregate according to its beneficial use if it can
be waste reduction, re-use and recyclable materials. Present the output with explanation.
Group 2: Waste Reduction
Make your own postermaking/slogan that shows proper waste management.
Group 3: Re-use
Using the materials in front, choose which materials is intended for re-use and explain it into
the class.
Group 4: Recycle
Using the materials in front, choose which material can be used to recycle and choose a
representative to present and explain the outcome.
Group 5: Composting and Waste Disposal
Site an examples of composting and waste disposal and make it a song.
If some of the class find doesn’t have their interest in the choices, they can choose the following:
1.writing a poem or essay based on the topic.
Etc.
After the instructions given, the teacher allow the class to read the rubrics on how they are being
graded. (Activity will be given 15 mins time allotted)
