1- Avoid handheld

No movement looks better than bad handheld movement


Use a shoulder rig

2- Zooming
Never zoom
Zoom make feels like somebody's watching you

3- Smooth movements
Invest in a stabilizer, bend your knees when you walk

4- Depth and foreground


One way to create depth is to put something in the foreground to show
the movement

5- Motivated movement
If we move from one person to the other, we can follow the second one to
our destination
Move with and in the direction of someone or something, it will seem
natural

6- Minimize rack focusing


Don’t change focus from close to far too often
Just one or two in the whole movie

7- Shoot for the edit


Use the gimbal to create transition
End shoot A with a whip or a pan and start shoot B with a whip or a pan

8- Plan out your movements


Don’t move the camera for absolutely no reason
Move the camera for a reason
For example if something change in a conversation, move the camera
