Motion

Digital Photography
Troutman
Assignment:
1.Create a photo with your moving subject captured as a blur.
Use a slow shutter speed.
2. Create a photo of someone (or thing) moving but without blur. (freeze motion)
Use a fast shutter speed.
3. Create a photo with subject in focus, and a blur in background. (Panning)
Aim your camera so your subject is moving into the frame. Begin following your subjects movement
and then release the shutter. Keep moving with the subject as the shutter opens and closes. This
will produce a blurred background with your subject more or less frozen. (you may also try this
with a stationary object and see what happens!) (teddy bear on merry go round)
Or, have your subject remain still with the environment or objects in the environment moving.
(bike still on sidewalk with cars on street moving) (kids in front of merry go round)
You can also try panning combined with the sports mode (fast shutter speed)
4. Create a photo with the subject as a blur, and a still background.
Mount your camera on a tripod or find a way to hold the camera steady. Aim so your subject is moving
into the frame and release the shutter.
Artists to Consider:
