1. Tính từ ngắn
S + (be/V) + adj-er + than + noun/ pronoun

I am shorter than Mai

I do homework faster than he does.

2. Tính từ dài
S + (be/V) + more + adj + than + noun/ pronoun

Lan is more gorgeous than me.

Lưu ý : S + (be/V) + much + comparative + noun/ pronoun → dùng để nhấn

mạnh sự nhiều hơn

This city is much bigger than that one.

III. So sánh nhất: (SUPERLATIVE)

1. Tính từ ngắn:

S + (be/V) + the + adj -est + noun

Phong is the tallest student in my class.

2. Tính từ dài

S + (be/V) + the most + adj + noun

This apartment is the most suitable for me.

Lưu ý: S + (be/V) + by far + superlative + noun → dùng để nhấn mạnh sự

nhiều nhất
India is by far the most populous country in the world.

S + be/V + the + số thứ tự + superlative + noun

Canada is the second largest country in the world. (Canada là quốc gia rộng thứ
2 trên thế giới)

Qui tắc chuyển tính từ trong sư so sánh:

1. Nếu tính từ tận cùng là Y -> ier hoặc iest

Noisy -> noisier -> the noisiest
Lazy -> lazier -> the laziest
2. Nếu tính từ tận cùng là nguyên âm + phụ âm -> gấp đôi phụ âm + er/ est
Big -> bigger -> the biggest
Hot -> hotter -> the hottest
3. Nếu tính từ có 2 âm tiết trở lên nhưng có đuôi -er, -et, -ow, -le thì ta chỉ
thêm -er/ est
Narrow -> narrower -> the narrowest
Clever -> cleverer -> the cleverest
Quiet -> quieter -> the quietest
Simple -> simpler/ more simple -> the simplest/ the most simple
4. Trạng từ luôn sử dụng trong công thức có more + Adv + than hoặc the
most + adv
He speaks more quickly than her.
5. Tính từ, trạng từ bất quy tắc

IV. Một số công thức so sánh khác:

1. So sánh đồng tiến

The + comparison + S + V, the + comparison + S + V

The older he gets, the happier he is. (Anh ấy càng lớn tuổi, anh ấy càng vui vẻ.)

2. So sánh lũy tiến

S + be/ V + short-adj+er and short-adj+er

She becomes prettier and prettier. (Cô ấy trở nên ngày càng xinh đẹp)

S + be/V + more and more + long-adj

He becomes more and more handsome. (Anh ấy trở nên ngày càng đẹp trai)

3. So sánh gấp bội

S + be/V + twice/ three times/ four times … + as + adj/adv + as + noun/
pronoun

My house is twice as big as yours. ( Nhà tôi lớn gấp hai lần nhà bạn)

4. So sánh ít hơn
S + be/ V + less + adj/adv/noun + than + noun/ pronoun

This story is less interesting than that one.

S + be/ V + fewer + noun + than + noun/ pronoun
