khác. Cấu trúc của câu so sánh hơn:
Short Adj: S + to be + adj + er + than + Noun/ Pronoun

V adv

Ex:

Lara is more beautiful than her older sister.
My wife woke up earlier than me this morning.
2. Cấu trúc câu so sánh nhất
Một cách so sánh bằng tiếng Anh khác chính là so sánh nhất, dùng để so sánh người (hoặc vật) với tất cả người (hoặc vật) trong
nhóm:
Short adj: S + to be + the + adj + est + Noun/ Pronoun
V adv

Long adj: S + to be + the most + adj + Noun/ Pronoun

11GRADE TEACHER : QUYNH NHU

Old Older/ elder The oldest/ the eldest

Phần nâng cao:

So sánh hơn So sánh nhất

So sánh hơn được nhấn mạnh bằng cách thêm “much” hoặc “far” trước So sánh nhất có thể được bổ nghĩa bằng “by
tính từ. far”.
The blue house is much larger than the green one. He is the greatest by far.
The blue house is far larger than the green one.

3. Cấu trúc câu so sánh bằng (positive form)

(+) S + to be/ V + as + adj/ adv + as + (S + tobe/ V) + O
(-) S + to be/ V + not + as + adj/ adv + as + O
Ex:
Water is as cold as ice. (Nước lạnh như đá.)
Is the party as fun as she expected?
Lara is not as charming as he thought.
Ex:
Your dog is not as/so pretty as mine.
I can’t draw as/ so beautifully as her.
S + to be + the same + (noun) + as + noun/ pronoun
Ex:
The red book is as expensive as the white one = The red book is the same price as the white one. (Cuốn sách đỏ có giá bằng
với cuốn sách trắng.)
English is as difficult as Chinese = English is the same difficulty as Chinese (Tiếng Anh với tiếng Trung Quốc có độ khó tương
đương nhau.)
* Lưu ý:
Dùng “the same as” chứ không dùng “the same like”.
Ex:
How old are you? – I am the same age as Tom. (không dùng “the same like”)
(Bạn bao nhiêu tuổi? – Tôi bằng tuổi với Tom.)
Less … than = not as/ so … as
Ex:
Today is less cold than yesterday. (Hôm nay không lạnh bằng hôm qua.)
= Today isn’t as/ so cold as yesterday.
This sofa is less comfortable than that one.
= This sofa isn’t as comfortable as that one.
Khi nói gấp bao nhiêu lần, ta dùng cấu trúc: twice as … as, three times as … as, …
Ex:
Linh types twice as fast as me. (Linh đánh máy nhanh gấp đôi tôi.)
Her book costs three times as much as mine. (Sách của cô ta đắt gấp 3 lần sách tôi.)

the more + long adj. / adv. + S + V, the more + long adj. / adv. + S + V
the + short adj. / adv.- er + S + V, the more + long adj. / adv. + S + V
the more + long adj. / adv. + S + V, the + short adj. / adv. - er + S + V
