1. Assignment Overview and Weightage

This individual assignment consists of a presentation and carries a 10%


weightage towards your final grade.

2. Objectives of Assignment

This segment allows students to take ownership of their learning by exploring


work psychology at the workplace through the various types of personality tests.
By completing this assignment, students will be able to analyse different types of
personalities and learn how to manage and motivate employee performance by
designing appropriate interventions.

3. Assignment Task Description and Requirements

(a) Each student is required to research on a personality test (e.g. Big Five
Personality test or others)

(b) Each student is to assume the role of a manager/supervisor. Conduct the


personality test on another person (assuming this person is your subordinate)
and obtain the results.

(c) Using the personality test results, recommend/discuss how you would
manage your subordinate and motivate his/her work performance.

(d) Each student is required to do a 7-8 minutes presentation. The presentation


may include a combination of the following:
 powerpoint slides
 comic strips
 role-plays
 embedded videos
 articles from credible sources
 any other suitable media

Students are encouraged to use their creativity to present engagingly to


facilitate learning and knowledge retention. The dress code during the
presentation is smart casual.

(e) The content of the presentation must include the following:

 Discussion of the personality test (include URL of the personality test).


 Persona of the subordinate, including his/her personality test results.
 Recommendations/ discussion on how you would manage this subordinate
and motivate his/her work performance.

(f) The presentation materials should NOT be extracted from the lecture notes
and slides.

(g) The due date for submission of this Individual Assignment 1 is Thursday, 18
May 2023, 5 pm.

(h) The marking scheme shall be as follows:

Content
- knowledge of the personality test
- depth and comprehensiveness of coverage
- demonstrate resourcefulness and analytical skills 40 marks
- logical flow of the content presentation

Recommendations
- recommendations/discussion on how to manage the
subordinate and motivate his/her work performance
40 marks
- practicality of recommendations
- clarity of rationale

Presentation skills
- attractiveness of slides, use of visuals and mechanics
- creative and effective presentation mode (slides, role-
play, videos, etc.) 20 marks
- audience engagement

Total 100 marks

4. Anti-plagiarism

Students assume full responsibility for the content and integrity of the academic
work they submit. A student’s submitted work, presentations, tests,
examinations, reports, and projects must be that of his/her work. Students shall
be guilty of a violation if they:
a) Represent the work of others as their own
b) Use or obtain unauthorised assistance in any academic work
c) Give unauthorised assistance to other students
d) Misrepresent the content of submitted work

Students who commit the plagiarism offence are subject to the disciplinary
procedures outlined in the Ngee Ann Plagiarism Policy. For more information,

5. Late Submission

For late submissions without valid reasons, 10% of the total possible mark will be
deducted for each day past the dateline, up to a maximum of 7 calendar days.
After which, a zero mark will be given.
