Non-governmental organizations aim for the betterment of society, community, or a group of people
in danger or need of help. They make sure human rights are not violated and there aren't any
injustices for certain people or communities. There are many NGOs around the world that monitors
discrimination and violations. They make sure the UDHR is maintained everywhere. For instance,
Amnesty International is an NGO founded in the UK that investigates abuses, racism, and
discrimination worldwide. Moreover, it also has education and training facilities for people to lead a
good life. Another notable example is Oxfam which has helped countries where there is hunger,
famine, and starvation (Source: Shutterstock). Oxfam promotes human rights by providing the basic
needs of people. They mainly deal with poverty, health, and conflicts. Moreover, they also have
campaigns and seminars where they talk about the human rights of women. They make sure that
women are not deprived of their rights just because they are women. Also, Doctors Without Borders
send aid to places where there are conflicts. According to this NGO, people of all race, religion, color,
and ethnicity has the right for seeking health benefits. This shows how they are promoting human
rights for underprivileged people. Many organizations help people seek refuge in other countries
when their home country violates their rights. In addition, they make sure the UDHR is maintained in
terms of freedom, equality between men and women, security, and many more (UN Human Rights,
2017).

The term global culture means the way globalisation has taken over the local cultures and norms of
many societies. The same culture and way of life of communities have all become the same since
globalisation started. People consume the same products in various parts of the world and this is
being promoted by the use of the internet, mass media, advertising and etc(Wiki Commons). There
are many drivers of globalisation but the most significant ones are technology and MNCs. Technology
has advanced a lot which has an impact on globalisation. With the use of digital technology, the
internet, online shopping, and social media, we can now consume cultural products such as art,
music, films, etc in an easier way. We can now experience various cultures just by using the internet
and social media platforms such as YouTube. This has caused intercultural awareness and a better
understanding of other cultures. Moreover, MNCs play a big role in improving globalisation. They
make new products, create jobs for the unemployed, and market and distribute products in many
parts of the world through the use of technology, music, food, clothing, and films. For instance, Apple,
which is an MNC makes smartphones, and laptops as well as has other productions in iTunes, Apple
Music, etc(Wiki Commons). Furthermore, the use of technology has improved the quality of life for
everyone. It has helped people communicate with one another much easier, share ideas, and
experience new ideas. It has also made sure the barriers between the nations decreased, and better
education, living standards, and cheap traveling cost. Free trade between nations has made it easier
for MNCs to have their production in other parts of the world. People are able to enjoy products that
are affordable and cheap. It has also given consumers a variety of choices. Moreover, foreign direct
investment of MNCs has improved the living standards of people in many parts of the world. For
example, in India, China, and Brazil (Broad, 2016).

Many leaders and nations react to globalisation different ways due to many factors. One of them is
nationalism. Countries like the USA which is in the stimulus is in favour of nationalism because they
want to protect their local and domestic firms by removing themselves from trade agreements. They
want to consume goods and services produced in their own countries and not through the supple
chain of international trades. Trump is a populist which means that he prefers focusing solely on
USA. Trump blames the immigrants for increase in wages, housing and unemployment. Incomes in
the USA and the UK has fallen due to the Brexit movement and other factors which has causes job
insecurity as well (Shutterstock).

Trump has only been voted mainly in rural places where people are conservative and has low living
standard as well as economic decline. The tariffs set by USA will do more harm than good according
to other leaders. Many leaders of other countries has stated that USA is a supplier of many raw
materials for businesses in other parts of the world and do not have an alternative. Moreover, USA
will be the one at risk in the future if they do not lift these tariffs because USA is depended on
countries like Saudi Arabia for oil, China for the production of Apple products and many more
(Shutterstock). Moreover, the former leader of USA, Barack Obama has stated that globalisation
cannot be ignored and it is important when it comes to technology and advancement of the countries.
It is true that without globalisation, all the countries will be lost because everything that we do now is
related with it whether its business or communications. Moving inwards isn't benefitting anyone
according to Narendra Modi. Countries will not be advancing towards anything and will cause a lot of
trouble. Furthermore, President Xi Jing Ping is also in favour of globalisation as it has made
everything easier more than ever. It will also have an economic benefit for the nations. They will be
advanced in technology and other things.

Thus, we can say that it is high time leaders around the globe come together for making the world a
better place to live in by using the latest technology, globalisation and etc. It will not only help the
nations but it will increase the living standards and quality of life of people. This will also benefit
them in terms of business, job security communications etc.
