Word Slides
By Floating Through First
 
 Putting together your flip book

1.  Print off the pages of whichever flip book you would need.
If I plan to print a lot, I like to save paper by printing two
pages on a sheet.
2.  Cut around the edges of each flip book page.
3.  Set aside the front cover and the back cover.
4.  Snip the lines between letters on each page. I sometimes
cut a “V” on either side of the line to help prevent the
pages from catching on each other.
5.  Stack the pages, put the covers on, and staple at the top.
6.  Allow students to flip one flap at a time to create real and
nonsense words. See the inside of the back cover for ideas
to record the words created!

 Putting together your silent e
slides
1.  Print the pages you will need on cardstock. If you do not have cardstock I would
highly recommend laminating the pages to make them more durable.
2.  Cut out the long slides.
3.  Cut out the silent e pieces. Be sure to cut along the black lines and carefully cut
slits using the gray lines as a guide.
4.  Put the silent e pieces on the long slides. You will need to roll the slides in order to
get the pieces over the top.
5.  Slide the silent e piece along to create new words!
