CONTRACTOR SHALL PERFORM DETAILED STRUCTURAL SITE SURVEY, WITH EXTENT, METHODS AND RESULTS TO BE APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER, TO IDENTIFY THE BELOW CASES IN THE EXISTING STRUCTURES AND TO CONDUCT ALL MENTIONED REMEDIAL MEASURES:
1- CONCRETE SURFACES OF ALL STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH SOIL SHALL BE PROTECTED BY WATERPROOFING SYSTEM ACCORDING TO APPROVED DESIGN DRAWINGS. BASED ON ACTUAL SITE STATUS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CHECK THE
WATERPROOFING STATUS AND REPAIR AS DEEMED NECESSARY AS PER ORIGINAL DESIGN DRAWINGS. IN CASE SOME OF THESE CONCRETE SURFACES ARE NOT PROTECTED BY WATERPROOFING SYSTEM THE CONTRACTOR SHALL APPLY THE WATERPROOFING SYSTEM
AS PER THE ORIGINAL DESIGN DRAWINGS. THIS APPLIES TO ALL UNFINISHED WATERPROOFING WORKS AND ALSO TO FINISHED OR PARTIALLY FINISHED WATERPROOFING WORKS THAT ARE DAMAGED, IMPAIRED, DEFECTED OR DETERIORATED.
2- EXPOSED REINFORCEMENT SHALL BE CLEANED FROM RUST BEFORE CASTING NEW CONCRETE.

TO BE FREE OF LAITANCE AND ROUGHEN THESE SURFACES WITH 6MM AMPLITUDE AS PER TABLE 16.4.4.2 IN CODE SBC-2018. IN ADDITION, EXPOSED REINFORCEMENT SHALL BE CLEANED FROM RUST.
5- IN CASE NO PROTRUDING DOWELS FROM FOUNDATIONS OR OTHER EXISTING CONCRETE ELEMENT, CONTRACTOR TO DRILL AND INSERT THESE DOWELS FOR A DISTANCE ACCORDING TO GROUT MANUFACTURER AND TO FIX THE DOWELS WITH NON-SHRINKAGE GROUT. CIVIL
CONTRACTOR SHALL REFER TO ENVIRONMENT/ELECTROMECHANICAL DRAWINGS FOR LOCATIONS OF PIPE SLEEVES/OPENINGS BEFORE CASTING THESE CONCRETE ELEMENTS/WALLS AND REFER TO ORIGINAL STRUCTURAL DESIGN DRAWINGS FOR TYPICAL DETAILS OF
OPENINGS IN WALLS. DRAWING TITLE:
6- VISIBLE CRACKS SHALL BE FILLED WITH NON-SHRINKAGE GROUT.
7- IN CASE OF ANY DISINTEGRATION OR CONCRETE SURFACE SPALLING IN ANY REINFORCED CONCRETE ELEMENT, THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE SHALL BE FOLLOWED: SITE CIVIL UTILITIES
a. THE DISINTEGRATED/SPALLING PARTS OF CONCRETE SHALL BE REMOVED.
b. THE REINFORCEMENT BARS SHALL BE CLEANED FROM LOOSE MATERIALS OR RUST (IF ANY). IN CASE OF RUST, THE BARS SHALL BE TREATED WITH APPROVED ZINC RICH MATERIAL. STORM SEWER PART PLAN
c. THE SURFACE OF THIS AREA SHALL BE CLEANED FROM LOOSE MATERIALS, WETTED AND THE REMOVED CONCRETE SHALL BE REPLACED BY NON-SHRINKAGE GROUT TO ITS ORIGINAL SHAPE.
8- WATER INSIDE MANHOLES, CHAMBERS OR TRENCHES SHALL BE REMOVED PRIOR TO CONCRETE CASTING. SHEET 04 OF 07
