Teaching Methodology in Elementary Education

1. Traditionally, the effectiveness of the teaching learning is measured by students getting

high grades, but getting high marks in classroom examinations is merely one of the array
or factors impinging upon an effective teaching learning. Hence, how can a school
manager supply methods using state of the art instructional management?

To ensure effective teaching and learning beyond just traditional grading, I can implement state-
of-the-art instructional management methods that focus on holistic student development.

Among of the many methods, these are the following that I used:

a. Shifting the focus from teacher-centric to student-centric learning.

b. Incorporating active learning methodologies such as group discussions, problem-solving,
case studies, and hands-on projects.
c. Leveraging technology to enhance learning experiences.
d. Relating lessons to real-life scenarios and applications.
e. Moving beyond traditional exams.
f. Providing timely feedback to students on their work.
g. Facilitating collaborations among teachers to share best practices and innovative
teaching methods.
h. Investing in ongoing professional development for teachers.
i. Creating a culture of continuous improvement including the stakeholders.

Through implementing these state-of-the-art instructional management methods, school

managers like me can foster an environment where students are actively engaged, motivated,
and equipped with the skills they need for success in a rapidly changing world. It's essential to
align these methods with the school's vision, mission, and educational goals.

2. Discuss how lesson plan utilizes appropriately in effective methods, strategies and
techniques to achieve the learning objectives.

A well-structured lesson plan is a fundamental tool that educators use to facilitate effective
teaching and learning. It serves as a roadmap for the instructional process, outlining the
methods, strategies, and techniques necessary to achieve specific learning objectives.

The objectives should be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-bounded).
Incorporate active learning strategies such as group discussions, debates, problem-solving, and
hands-on activities. Utilize differentiated instruction to address varying student needs and
learning styles. Integrate technology appropriately to enhance learning experiences. Incorporate
visual aids such as diagrams, charts, and videos to make complex concepts more accessible.
Employ scaffolding techniques to gradually guide students from simple to complex tasks. Use
effective questioning techniques to stimulate critical thinking and class participation. Implement
cooperative learning strategies that encourage collaboration among students. Relate lesson
content to real-world scenarios, applications, and examples. Integrate formative assessment
techniques throughout the lesson. Incorporate opportunities for students to receive feedback on
their work. Design methods and strategies that align with different levels of Bloom's Taxonomy,
moving from knowledge and comprehension to application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.
At the end of the lesson, assess whether the learning objectives have been met. Evaluate student
performance and understanding.

By tailoring methods, strategies, and techniques within a lesson plan to the learning objectives,
educators can create a dynamic and engaging learning experience that supports student
achievement and long-term understanding.

3. The most common purpose of every teacher is to teach the children on the knowledge
and skills of every lesson thought different. Assessment and evaluation are conducted on
its effect. Therefore, how do you account that learning has taken place on the learners?

Assessing and confirming that learning has taken place among learners is a crucial
aspect of the teaching process. It involves evaluating not only the acquisition of
knowledge but also the application and understanding of concepts. It's important to use
a variety of assessment tools and methods to capture different dimensions of learning.

There will be indicators, both formal and informal, to gain a comprehensive

understanding of learners' progress and the effectiveness of the teaching methods. Here
are some indicators in my class:

a. Learners can explain concepts in their own words, demonstrate how to apply theories
in practical scenarios, and provide examples that showcase a deep understanding of
the subject matter.
b. Learners can apply what they've learned to solve problems, make decisions, and
analyze situations.
c. Learners should be able to analyze, evaluate, and critically assess information,
showing that they can think critically.
d. Learners can create new ideas, solutions, or products that demonstrate a synthesis of
the knowledge they've acquired such as creative projects or outputs.
e. Clear and coherent communication indicates a strong grasp of the subject matter.
f. Active engagement in class discussions, asking insightful questions, and contributing
meaningfully to activities.
g. Consistently strong performance indicates mastery of the material.
h. Work effectively in groups, share knowledge, and contribute to the collective
understanding of the topic.
i. If learners can recall and apply concepts learned over an extended period.
4. Education is one of the prime movers of economic change and development in any
developing country like the Philippines. It is considered as the master's key that opens
doors for poverty elevation, equity and justice. What ways can you address in order to
strengthen basic education to provide students with the right knowledge, lifelong, self-
reliant, productive and patriotic citizens of the country?

Strengthening basic education in a developing country like the Philippines requires a

multifaceted approach that addresses various aspects of the education system. The goal
is to provide students with the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes necessary to
become lifelong learners, self-reliant individuals, productive contributors to society, and
patriotic citizens. It is a comprehensive endeavor that requires collaboration among
government agencies, educational institutions, communities, and stakeholders.

As an educator the country needs and continuously needs to be at paced with

educational changes adapting the changing learning environment as well as meeting the
needs of diverse learners one generation to another. It is important to develop a relevant
and updated curriculum that focuses on essential skills such as critical thinking, problem-
solving, creativity, communication, and digital literacy. Provide professional development
for teachers to use effective instructional strategies that engage students and promote
active learning. Ensure that all students, regardless of their socioeconomic background
or geographic location, have equal access to quality education. Leverage technology to
enhance learning experiences and provide access to digital resources. Equip schools with
the necessary infrastructure and training to effectively integrate technology into
teaching. Ensure adequate and equitable funding for education. Strengthen governance
structures to promote transparency, accountability, and efficient resource allocation.

5. Giving assignments to learners is recognized as the most important phase of teaching

learning activities carried on outside the classroom and it is considered the stimulus of
the learning activity. Give your comment on the proposal regarding on the notion that
teachers should not give assignment to learners. Justify your answer.

The practice of giving assignments to learners outside the classroom is indeed a

common and established aspect of teaching and learning. Assignments serve several
purposes, including reinforcing classroom learning, promoting independent thinking,
and developing time management and research skills. However, the notion that teachers
should not give assignments to learners is a perspective that warrants consideration.

The decision to give assignments or not should giving is something that should be based
on a balanced approach that considers the educational goals, the nature of the
assignments, the age and capabilities of the students, and the overall workload.
Assignments can be valuable tools for learning and teachers should also consider the
diverse needs of their students and be responsive to any signs of stress or overload.

The key is to strike a balance that promotes learning while also respecting students' well-
being and the importance of a healthy study-life balance. Regular communication
between teachers, students, and parents can help ensure that assignments are
purposeful and supportive of meaningful learning outcomes.
