Project Name: IMS

Role: Senior R&D Engineer

Project Overview:
The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) standard defines a generic architecture for offering Voice over IP (VOIP) and
multimedia services. IMS core is comprised of functions like P-CSCF, S-CSCF, I-CSCF etc. These entities communicate
with each other using some standardized Interfaces for SIP protocol conformance.

Responsibilities:

➢ Development of CSCF components (PCSCF, ICSCF) using C++. Protocols included SIP.
➢ Primary owner for P-CSCF Session Manager (PSM) component. Responsibility included coding in PCSCF, handling
of multiple customer queries and issues related to PCSCF and mentoring and guiding the co-workers in P-CSCF.
➢ Primary owner for SLA Monitoring in IBCF. This component handles the Service Level Agreement statistics
provided by the IBCF and BGW at SBC. Handled features and bugs in SLA Monitor and tutored the co-workers
for coding in the component.
➢ Primary owner for ICSCF. I-CSCF queries the HSS using the DIAMETER Cx interface to retrieve the user location,
and then routes the SIP request to its assigned S-CSCF. Contribution in the development of I-CSCF features.
➢ Use of trace logs and Wireshark for debugging the issues in SIP, SDP, H.248 (Megaco), diameter.

The FlexiPlatform is a Linux-based software platform that provides services to build various IP network applications. It is
supported on several hardware platforms; both Nokia Siemens Networks orchestrated hardware as well as selected IT
hardware.

Responsibilities:

➢ Responsible for the development and maintenance of MGW signaling simulator. It is a performance measurement tool
for SCCP protocol. The tool processes the message packet and forwards to the SCCP layer.
➢ Responsible for the development and maintenance of RNC signaling Simulator. It is a traffic generator and a
performance measurement tool for SCCP protocol. It can generate and measure packets between two instances of
the application.
➢ Written numerous functional as well as system verification testcases using Robot scripting.
➢ Contributed in developing and fixing few features in Test Automation and Continuous Integration framework.
➢ Conducted trainings on Robot Framework, Test Automation Framework for the new recruits in FlexiPlatform.
➢ Responsible for all the testing activities, from commissioning the system to making the testplan, writing Testcases
