Minimum of 10 minutes is Facebook’s recommendation as it gives users a
chance to scroll and come across the feed.

HOW TO HANDSHAKE WITH FACEBOOK


1. Navigate to your page in Business Manager
2. Click on “Settings” in the upper right corner of your page.
3. Click on “Branded Content”
4. Ensure that ‘Page Approvals’ toggle is set to “on” (will turn blue)
4. Under ‘Approved Pages’, type ‘SXSW’ and select the page below.

CONTENT RESTRICTIONS
Please avoid anything resembling traditional advertisements or infomercials.
Ideally, it is not something that looks just like a SXSW session.

Define Your Audience
Every year SXSW attracts a diverse group of attendees, ranging from
media and creative industry professionals to technology leaders and
venture capitalists to music and film fans. Crafting content with a
particular segment of our audience in mind can help cut through the
noise and reach the attendees who would be most interested in your
product, service, activation, or event. Creating relevant copy is
essential to campaign success. For example, Bose executed a
campaign during SXSW 2018 using copy that was inspiring to
everyone on our social channels, but also relevant to attendees.

Keep It Relevant To SXSW


Professionals from all walks of life come to SXSW to learn, network,
and have unforgettable experiences. We’ve seen that the most
successful content usually ties into popular programming or
enhances SXSW, the experience in some way. Past successful
campaigns have highlighted stand out. Showcasing Artists, art
installations, and rising technologies.

Be Creative
The SXSW Audience has come to expect the unexpected. Creative
activations are always more memorable, especially when showcased
on a social media platform like Facebook Live. Visually dynamic and
interesting content that quickly grabs people’s interest tends to
perform very well on social media. During SXSW 2017, our audience
was much more responsive to a livestream of a walking meditation
led by traditional Buddhist monks than they were to a livestream of a
conventional conference panel session.

Please keep in mind that SXSW is relying on the client to obtain any
necessary rights and permissions for any third-party content that the client
uses. This includes any music, artwork, video or other clips that are not
owned by the client. If you aren’t able to obtain these rights, please do not
include third-party content in your materials.
