i. If the difference of the roots of the quadratic equation is 5 and the difference of their
cubes is 215, find the quadratic equation.
ii. A bus covers a certain distance with uniform speed. If the speed of the bus would
have been increased by 15 km/hr, it would have taken two hours less to cover the
same distance. And if the speed of the bus would have been decreased by 5 km/hr.
It would have taken one hour more to cover the same distance. Find the distance
covered by the bus.
iii. The sales of salesmen in a week are given in the pie diagram. Study the diagram
and answer the following questions. If the total sale due to salesman A is Rs. 18,000
then :
(a) Find the total sale.
(b) Find the sale of each salesman
(c) Find the difference between the highest sale
and the lowest sale.

Q.5 Attempt any two of the following subquestions :

i. Find three consecutive terms in an A.P. whose sum is -3 and the product of their
cubes is 512.

ii. Two dice are thrown. Find the probability of getting (a) The sum of the numbers on
their upper faces is at least 10. (b) The sum of the numbers on their upper faces is
divisible by 6. (c) The sum of the numbers on their upper faces is at the most 4.

iii. Following table gives frequency distribution of trees planted by different housing
societies in a particular locality.
