Master’s Thesis
Title:
A comparison of satellite and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV’s) imagery in adverse conditions: A case study in
Franz Josef, West Coast, New Zealand

Objectives:
• Capture Unmanned Aerial Vehicle visible imagery in light rain and/or cloudy conditions and compare with
contemporaneous satellite imagery (MODIS and Sentinel-2);
• Capture UAV infrared imagery at night time;
• Critique the applications and logistics of satellite and UAV imagery capture and interpretation under different weather
and day/night conditions for emergency response and management; apply learnings to potential logistics and
institutional arrangements in Nepal.

Bachelor`s degree | Tribhuvan University | Kathmandu, Nepal 2005 - 2009

GIS application in NRM, Remote sensing and photo interpretation, Air photo interpretation and photogrammetry,
Forest management, Surveying, Silviculture
The course is more focused on forestry science but I managed to choose some GIS and remote sensing courses as
elective and compulsory courses.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Used Maxent, ArcGIS, R software for modelling
