1. SCOPE

TPG is proposing this step-by-step procedure to water seal the area without removing the
existing tiles. The scope will cover the following:
1. Water sealing the tile areas.
2. Seal the connection between the water closets and the drainage pipes.

1. Water Sealing the tile areas.

• Isolate the toilet area and ensure that the area is totally dry and/or free
of moisture.
• Removing of existing grout
o Cover the drain opening and/or cover areas with a drop sheet.
o Use a multi-tool or grinder to cut into the grout to remove it.
o Once the old grout has been removed, dust any excess or debris
away to clean the surface and prepare it for the new grout.
• Apply Epoxy grout on the tile gaps.
o Proposed material:
▪ Polywed G4 epoxy grout (Technical data sheet attached) OR
▪ Jazeera Groutex (Technical data sheet attached) OR
▪ Weberjoint deco(Technical data sheet attached)
o Mixing and application will be as per the technical data.
o Lay down the drop sheets on the floor.
o Use a grout float to apply the grout to all the joints.
o Keep applying the grout until the mixture in the joints starts to set.
o Curing time will be based on technical data.
• Water seal the tile areas using ShowerPlug.
o Clean the surface. Then, check the surface for cracks. If there are any
cracks or holes in the tiles and grout greater than 1mm wide, they
must be repaired using regular superfine grout.
o Clean any dirt and mold using bleach then allow it to dry.
o Any cracks <1mm wide will be sealed by Shower Plug alone.
o Repair cracks >1mm wide using grout.
o Allow the repair grout to dry for 24 hours.
o Application of Shower Plug: The Two-Coat Process
▪ Apply an even coat of Shower Plug.*
▪ Wait 5 mins and then repeat this process.
▪ Wait another 5 mins and then wipe away any excess.
o After application of Shower Plug
▪ After applying Shower Plug, it is recommended to apply a
silicone strip in the corner joint between the wall and floor.

 2. Seal the connection between the water closets and the drainage pipes.
• Remove grimes and dirt on the pipes and drainage/sewage junctions.
• Ensure the area is totally dry (at least 24 hours).
• Apply the following materials proposed to seal the junction between the pipe
and the drainage/sewage lines.
o J-B Water Weld Or equivalent (Waterproof epoxy putty)
o The application will be based on technical data.
• For the junctions in between the water closets and the tiles, silicone will be
applied accordingly.

All material technical data will be provided to the client for approval prior to procurement
and delivery.
