undertaken in a safe manner, to the requisite quality and to the agreed timescale.

 MATERIAL ENGINEER shall be responsible for the implementation of this procedure. He or She shall assign a
competent Material Inspector to perform / supervise any inspections and tests required.

 PROJECT ENGINEER shall be responsible for the activities such as, controlling manpower and equipment
involved for the assigned activity, control workforce, and operators to implement a safe working method.

 SAFETY OFFICER shall be responsible for the implementation of safety working practices on site. He is assigned
to ensure that all works are in accordance with HSE procedures.

 FOREMAN shall be responsible for the actual work execution at site following this methodology. He shall
supervise all workers personnel to complete the job in a proper manner with full control of safety pre-cautions and
practices.

 LABOR /HELPER shall be executing the activities assigned to him on site.

C. PREPARATORY WORKS :
a. SITE CLEARING

1. Removal of defective/existing waterproofing membrane

2. Removal of Lightweight concrete topping using a chipping gun
3. All debris must be hauled and disposed outside FTI Complex
4. All existing downspout must be clean in this phase of work
5.
D. SURFACE PREPARATION AND CLEANING

1. All concrete Surface must be free from Oil, grease, loose particles /dirt and sharp protruding
edges,
2. All additional/ new six (6) downspout must be properly layout/mark
3. Mark clearly the area or boundaries where defective concrete to be repaired.
4. Take out the defective concrete by manual chipping with a concrete chisel or angle grinder.
5. Clean all application areas with a used of brush to remove all loose debris and dust.

6. Seal all cracks using approved Self-Levelling Structural Epoxy grout to fill-n the cracks, crevices
at the top surface.
7. Chipped concrete for the additional downspout at Roof deck.

8. Install 6 units of (6) six additional downspout using 150 mm dia. PVC Pipe. As per approved
detailed plan.
9. Seal all existing and newly installed downspout.
10. Never apply repair material when it’s raining or when the rain is expected after 3 hrs.
11. Allow it to harden within 24hrs.
12. Using Grinder, remove excess harden epoxy grout to match existing floor level finish.
13. Thoroughly re-inspect the area to make sure all concrete damage and cracks all properly seal and
repaired.
14. Make a final Cleaning prior to application of appropriate primer coat.

E. INSTALLATION OF WATERPROOFING MEMBRANE:

1. Coat the entire area with primer coat around the perimeter extending 0.30 cm, then let it dry well.
2. Align rolls and heat the polyethylene film of the membrane and roof deck surface by heating and
melting method (but not flowing), install the membrane fully bonded with overlaps of 5 -10 cm.
3. After completion of installation of Waterproofing membrane, Conduct Inspection on the installed
membrane, NO AIR BUBBLES, NO FOLDS and NO FALLING AWAY.
4. Provide 50 mm protective concrete topping on the installed waterproofing membrane, with a Class
“A” Concrete mix with a Slope of 1%.
5. Prior to concreting Install 8 mm dia. rebar reinforcement space at 0.40 cm both ways.
6. Proceed Concreting work, avoid cold joints to avoid possible entries of leaks.
7. Conduct Flood/Leak test with a minimum of 2” on the entire waterproof areas for a period of
Twenty-Fours (24) hours.
8. Conduct Joint inspection with FTI Engineering representative to witness Flood Testing of the ff
areas.
9. If there’s a Leak marks, rectify to satisfy and closeout the punch list /findings.
10. Then conduct re-inspection to achieved approved/passed Flood Testing results.

F. INSTALLATION/FABRICATION OF RAILINGS AT ROOFDECK:

1. Fabricate as per approved fabrication drawings.

2. Fabricate of Top rail / End Post: B.I Pipes with 50 mm dia. with Schedule 40.
3. Cut to cover combined length of the Top Rail and Post.
4. Fabrication of Sub rails
5. Layout to determine points to erect the post. Measure and mark the position of the railing post on the
floor they will be installed.
6. Drill to produce holes in each marked points where to erect the post and enough inserts the dowels.
7. Cutting of pipes to cover the entire flight.
8. Dowels are inserted and ready to support the post.
9. Temporary post is erected to support the Top rail. Now fit the top railing over the upright and be
sure it fits correctly. Use a level to check its level.

10. Installation of Sub rails, raw materials are cut into required lengths, followed by notching of both
ends in preparation for welding works in order to connect to the post.
11. All welded areas are grinded to flatten the surfaces. Sanding follows to smoothen in preparation for
primer application.
12. Apply two (2) coats of primer to compete the process.

G. APPLICATION OF ELASTOMERIC PAINTS WITH FIBER GLASS MESH:

1. Pressure Wash, Sweep and Remove All Surface Contaminates

2. To maximize adhesion and coverage, the surface should be clean and free of any debris.
3. Allow Surface to Dry (1-4 hours depending on weather)
4. Allow the recently cleaned surface to dry completely before applying your first coat.

8. Use a professional roll (or brush for smaller jobs) to apply a generous coat onto your surface
9. Allow Surface to Dry (24-48 hours depending on weather)
10. Weather permitting, you should allow your first coat to dry for at least 24 hours.
11. Recoat Roof Surface
12. Repeat procedure up to 6 coats of elastomeric paints with Fiber Mesh at concrete parapet and
concrete wall at 4th floor.
