(5) different tools used in Genetic Engineering.

1. Polymerase Chain Reaction

The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is so-called. It is effective because for each of the 25 to 75
cycles, the DNA is multiplied exponentially. Each new segment of DNA created during a cycle lasts
about a minute and can be used as a template for future segments.

2. Gel Electrophoresis

Proteins and nucleic acids are separated using gel electrophoresis equipment according to their size
and charge. Gel electrophoresis equipment is used in forensic, molecular biology, genetics, and
microbiology labs to run and compare DNA samples.

3. Enzymes involved in DNA manipulation.

For tasks like manipulating DNA, enzymes including nucleases, ligases, polymerases,
modifying enzymes, and topoisomerases are frequently utilized. Nucleases: Enzyme nucleases
break the DNA molecule's phosphodiester bond in order to cut or digest the DNA molecule.
4. Restriction Enzymes (Molecular Scissor)

When they cleave DNA at or close to particular recognition sequences known as restriction sites,
restriction enzymes are often referred to as "molecular scissors." These enzymes, also known as
restriction endonucleases, create one cut on each of the two strands of DNA.

5. Cloning Vectors
Using cloning vectors, foreign DNA may be inserted into a different cell and replicated several times.
The host cell's machinery is used to reproduce and express the foreign DNA. One copy of the DNA is
amplified into several copies.
