Program Description:

A Science Capstone Project (SP) symposium is a platform where students to showcase their
research work and share their findings with their peers, teachers, and the wider community.

Encouraging scientific inquiry: SCP symposia provide an opportunity for students to engage in scientific
inquiry and research, which is essential for developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. By
presenting their work at a symposium, students can receive feedback on their research methodology
and data analysis, allowing them to improve their scientific skills.

1. Sharing knowledge: symposia provide a forum for students to share their findings with their
peers and teachers, as well as with the wider community. By sharing their work, students can
contribute to the body of knowledge in their field and inspire others to pursue their interests in
science.

2. Developing communication skills: Presenting research findings at a symposium helps students

develop their communication skills, including public speaking, writing, and visual
communication. These skills are crucial for success in science and many other fields.

3. Fostering collaboration: SCP symposia provide an opportunity for students to collaborate with
each other, as well as with their teachers and other experts in the field. Collaborative research
can lead to more innovative and impactful results, as well as provide valuable networking
opportunities for students.

4. Recognition and motivation: SCP symposia can be a source of recognition and motivation for
students. Presenting their research work to an audience and receiving feedback on their work
can be a powerful motivator for students, encouraging them to continue their pursuit of science
and research. Additionally, recognition for their work can help students build their resume for
future academic and career opportunities.
