Choreographer showcase at weekly class: September 5th @8:45
Audition week: September 6-12
Show Dates: December 1st @8pm, 2nd @2pm and @8pm

How do auditions work?

During the second Tuesday class of the school year (Sept 5th!) each choreographer will
demonstrate a brief section of their piece for our fall show. Anyone interested is welcome to
attend! You will also receive an email containing all of the time slots, piece descriptions, and
styles.
Each choreographer will have a designated time slot for their weekly rehearsal. During
their first rehearsal, auditions will take place. If you are selected for a piece, you will be notified
within 24 hours of the audition time. You would then rehearse during that time slot each week
for that piece. For example, if Caroline’s time slot is Wednesdays from 7-8, her audition would
be on Wednesday the 6th from 7-8, and her rehearsals would be at that time every week until the
show!
We are implementing a new rule this year so that everyone has an equal chance to be in
the showcase! You may only be selected for up to four pieces (not including senior dance).
You may audition for as many pieces as you desire, but once you are selected for four please be
courteous to your fellow dancers and stop auditioning. If you are selected for more than 4 dances
please notify the board and we can discuss a plan of action.

Dancer responsibilities:

If you are selected for a piece, congratulations! You will be required to attend your
practice for your piece as well as our Tuesday class each week until the showcase.* You will also
be expected to pay $20 in dues for the semester to cover theater costs. You are allowed to miss 2
Tuesday classes without penalty, and after that you will be asked to assist in setting up for show
week. If you are not selected for a piece, you are still welcome to attend Tuesday classes
whenever you may please, you will not be required to pay dues.
*If you are casted in a dance and you are unable to attend weekly class due to another
commitment (such as class or work), please email us to let us know so we can make note of it.
