ANSWER:

Write an analytical essay on what do you think must be removed and must be
added to the:

a. Presidential Decree 6-A (Educational Development Decree of 1972)

The Educational Development Decree of 1972, also known as Presidential Decree 6-A,
has been an important part of the education system in the Philippines. It was meant to fix
the problems of inequality and inefficiency in education at the time. But as time went on,
there were calls to go back and look at the decree again to make sure it still fits the needs
of the country.

One part of Presidential Decree 6-A that I think needs to be changed is the part that
says the government can take over private schools. This rule has caused a lot of trouble
because it takes away the rights of private institutions. Instead, the government should
focus on helping and encouraging private schools to make them better and more accessible,
especially in areas that don't have enough schools.

On the other hand, one thing that needs to be added to Presidential Decree 6-A is a
stronger focus on vocational and technical education. Even though the decree puts an
emphasis on general education, it is important to realize how important vocational and
technical skills are to the economic growth of the country. By giving students more options
for vocational and technical education, they will have more ways to go into jobs that are in
demand.

Presidential Decree 6-A has helped solve some of the problems in the Philippines'
education system, but there is still room for improvement. The decree can better meet the
needs of the country and its people if it gets rid of the part that lets the government take
over private schools and puts more emphasis on vocational and technical education.
b. Education Act of 1992

The Education Act of 1992 has been on the laws in the Philippines for almost 30
years. Even though it has made some good changes to the education system, it is high time
for some changes to be made to meet the needs of Filipino students right now.

Firstly, the 1992 Education Act must allow classroom technology integration.
Technology is changing, so students need digital skills to succeed. Technology in the
curriculum will also help urban and rural schools connect.

Second, a student mental health provision is needed. The Education Act of 1992
prioritizes academics, but student well-being is equally important. Mental health programs in
the curriculum help students manage stress and anxiety and support their overall well-being.

Finally, the Education Act of 1992 must be updated to meet Filipino students' needs.
Technology in the classroom and mental health programs in the curriculum are some of the
changes needed to give Filipino students a well-rounded education that prepares them for
the future.

2. Identify and discuss at least one issue in your academic institution/current

school and cite its possible solution in the following criteria:

a. Educational Strategies

b. Goals and Structure

c. Curricula

d. Teaching-learning Methodologies

Lack of student motivation is a common problem in many educational institutions

including my current school where I am teaching. I can also relate this to my work as a
tutor at a private tutorial center back in the Philippines. However, there are several
strategies that can be employed to improve student motivation and engagement in learning.

Educational Strategies: Teachers can use a variety of teaching methods to help students
get more motivated. For example, teachers can use differentiated instruction, which means
adapting the lesson to each student's needs. This method can help students feel more
interested in learning and motivated to do so.

Goals and Structure: Setting clear goals and expectations is another way to help students
become more motivated. Teachers can set up an organized educational atmosphere with
clear goals and feedback on how students are doing in meeting these goals. This method
can help students stay interested in learning and keep their attention on it.

Curricula: The content of the lessons can also have a big effect on how motivated students
are. Teachers can include topics and activities that are significant to students and that they
find interesting. This method can help students see the value in what they are learning and
get them more excited about putting effort on it.

Teaching-learning Methodologies: Teachers can also use various methods of teaching

to keep students interested and engaged in learning. For example, active learning methods
like group discussions, hands-on activities, and learning through projects can help students
feel more invested in what they are learning.

Getting students more interested in learning requires a holistic approach that uses different
strategies in different parts of the learning process. Teachers can help create a more
engaging and effective learning environment for all students by addressing the problems
that keep students from being motivated.
