    Module 15 Global Citizenship Learning Activity

    Who is Davinia? Why does this person / organization exhibit the attributes of global
    citizenship?

    Davinia is a global citizen who was born in Jamaica and emigrated into the United
    States, she is what the speaker defined as a Global Citizen, someone who doesn’t look
    into a persons, race, religion, status, but looks into what he/she can do as a human
    being, on how to help the people around her, someone who may not be or have a huge
    name, but makes a big impact globally. She started with collecting pennies from her
    Facebook friends to be able to fund girls’ education, and she also devoted her time to
    approaching Politicians by writing letters or sending emails. This person wants to create
    an impact. And he has seen how even with a small percentage of 18% people who care
    about global problems made a huge impact around the world, and with social media
    today where the voice of people can be heard, they know that it is possible to attract
    more people into making any kind or form of action globally.
