Why do you think this can be considered animal cruelty? Do you know any other types of acts

that affect animal lives?  (Write about 100-150 words)

The scene or the history that the video show us is considered animal cruelty because it show us

how the makeup industry uses the animals skin to prove on them harmful chemicals, it show us

what is behind the big and important industries of fashion, style and beauty test in their body to

examine how the chemicals work on human skin or sometimes this industries kill the animals

just to remove their skin and make of it shoes, hats or coats. Lock up animals and use them as if

they were as test dummies is a very immoral act because people are not respecting the animal’s

life and their contribution to the nature.

How to recognize and report Animal Cruelty

Most of the time animal cruelty splits in two types of categories, international acts of

harm inflicted upon an animal and acts of neglect, an example of an act of neglect is to fail on

provide to an animal food, shelter, water, veterinary care, or shelter. If someone committed an

act of neglect or mistreatment to an animal, the authorities in charge of these cases will open a

complete investigation. If you know about any case of animal abuse or neglect, you should report

it contacting 311, 911 if there’s a crime in process, also you can talk to local police or animal

control.

The Criminal World of Dogfighting

Animal Cruelty

The dogfighting is a form of animal mistreatment in which humans forced dogs to fight

one another, and the dog who kills the other dog first is the winner, the lifestyle of this dogs is so

awful because they spent most of their lives raised on isolation in short and heavy chains. Most

of times in the fights, the dogs are under drugs and anabolic steroids effects, this is to encourage

aggressiveness and to enhance muscle mass. Although the dogfighting is a felony in most of the

states, it continues happening, in the past decade the ASPCA has assisted approximately to 200

cases of dogfighting in at least 24 states. Although fights usually don’t end in death, many dogs

succumb to their injuries later, and losing dogs are often killed. Dogfighting is often associated

with other forms of criminal activity including illegal gambling and possession of drugs or

firearms.

Rescue Work and Field Deployments

The “ASPCA” is a national organization in the United States that deploys when someone

reports an animal cruelty case to the local authorities. The ASPCA helps with investigations,

forensic evidence collection and processing, rescuing animals and transporting them to shelters

or foundations in which they may be safe until someone adopts them. ASPCA deploys many

times to rescue animal victims from mistreatment around the country.

Activity Two:

Participate in Three speaking sessions.

Activity Three:

What have you learned on this topic? Please, reflect in a short paragraph (150 words)

From this topic I have learned how to use the imperatives and the modal verbs and how to

express them while using permission and prohibition which I can use and relate to the previous

topics, also I have improved my previous knowledge about the animal cruelty, mistreatment and

neglect, now I know in a proper way all of the risks that animals are subjected to when they are

used for the human entertainment or test material to test experiments with harmful chemicals for

the human benefit. It is surprising to see how every year the number of animals killed due to
Animal Cruelty

animal abuse or human consumption grow constantly to the point where it can reach a billionaire

figure, and its very sad to know that this number of deaths is caused because humans set up ideal

business for their consumption based on trafficking animals or putting them to fight among

themselves.
