Plant tissues differentiated into 2:

1. Meristematic
2. Pemanent

Simple Permanent Tissue

Complex Permanent Tissue

THE EPIDERMIS
plant tissue that provide a
protective barrier against

mechanical injury, water loss, and

infection.
PARENCHYMA
large thin walled packing cells that
can be used for storage
COLLENCHYMA
plant tissue that provide support,
structure, mechanical
strength, and flexibility
(allowing for easy bending without
breakage)
SCLERENCHYMA

a plant tissue providing

mechanical stiffness and strength
XYLEM

used for

transporting water and mineral ions in

solution and helping to support the

plant.
FLOEM

responsible for the transport and

distribution

of sugars produced by the

photosynthesis.

Animal Tissues
EPITHELIUM

The epithelium is a type of body tissue

that forms the covering on all internal
and external surfaces of your body, lines
body cavities and hollow organs and is
the major tissue in glands
MUSCULAR TISSUES
Muscular tissue is a
specialized tissue in
animals which
applies forces to
different parts of
the body by
contraction.
NERVOUS TISSUE
Nervous tissue is found
in the brain, spinal
cord, and nerves. It is
