Welcome to my portfolio, a testament to my dedication, passion, and growth
as I embark on the transformative journey of becoming an educator in the
field of English. As a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English
intern, I am thrilled to present an assortment of experiences, reflections,
and achievements that have shaped my understanding of effective teaching,
student engagement, and the profound impact educators can have on young
minds.

My aspiration as an educator is to cultivate a dynamic and inclusive

learning environment where students feel empowered to explore the world
of English language and literature. I envision myself as a facilitator of
knowledge, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and empathy within my
students. By instilling a love for learning, I aim to equip my students with
the skills and insights they need to navigate an ever-changing global
landscape.

At the core of my philosophy is the belief that every student possesses unique
talents, learning styles, and potential waiting to be unlocked. I advocate
for a student-centered approach that tailors instruction to individual needs
while fostering collaboration and a sense of community in the classroom.
By connecting the curriculum to real-world contexts and nurturing a
growth mindset, I intend to kindle lifelong learners who are resilient,
adaptable, and well-prepared for their future endeavors.

The first Pan Pacific Inter-School Competition (PIC) assistants were

introduced this week. In order to avoid any last-minute hiccups, I learnt
how crucial it is to pay attention to detail and be well organized. I devoted
the previous week to get familiar with the format and guidelines of the
competition.

It was exciting to observe how the many teams, including registration and
activities, worked together to bring the PIC to life. The competition will involve
multiple schools, each with their own team. Along with that, I got together with
other Practice teachers and we started working together on the things we needed
to do.

I feel a sense of success as the first week comes to an end. This event is made all
the more fulfilling by the expectation of watching young athletes compete with
talent while exhibiting sportsmanship and togetherness.

As my cooperating teacher assigned the subjects I will be teaching during my

internship, this week got off to an exciting start. I was given a list of subjects
for which I would be accountable, including various facets of the English
curriculum, which was my major. Nervousness and excitement to take on this
new endeavor coexisted in me. I spent the day arranging my classes after
selecting the teaching subjects. I wanted to make sure the material was
interesting, pertinent, and in line with what the kids needed to study. It was
crucial for me to establish a welcoming and engaging learning space to pique
the kids' interest in English.

I went to the library to look for books that would be appropriate to add to my
classes. I was delighted to discover a wide range of resources that could improve
the pupils' comprehension of the courses. It was finally Friday, which meant it
was time for my debut demo. As I walked into the classroom, I was both anxious
and enthusiastic. It helped me get over my first nerves that the pupils were
attentive and ready to learn.

Beginning this week, I had the wonderful chance to attend my classmate's

demo lesson. We alternate leading demo classes as part of our internship
program so that we can learn useful teaching strategies from one another. I
was eager to observe my classmate in action and pick his teaching style up.

I had an in-depth conversation with my classmate on his performance after the

demo class. I discussed my findings and offered helpful criticism on the areas
where he excelled and those that needed improvement. It was crucial that I
provided comments in a constructive and motivating way, recognizing his
strengths and making recommendations for improvement.

I made care to compliment my classmate's teaching abilities throughout our

feedback session. He demonstrated outstanding topic knowledge, maintained a
friendly relationship with the pupils, and skillfully employed visual aids to
improve learning. I wanted to make sure he felt appreciated and secure in his
teaching skills.

This week began with excitement and a touch of nerves as I prepared for
my demo. The topic that i prepared was all about how to write an
informative essay. my goal for this lesson is to hone the writing skills
of the students and also teach them how to write their own informative
essay.

I incorporated multimedia elements, including videos and images, to

make the content more captivating and relatable. The demo day finally
arrived, and I felt a mix of excitement and anticipation. I began the
class with an engaging icebreaker, allowing the students to share their
thoughts on the significance of women in society. The discussions
during the lesson were insightful and heartwarming. The students
showed genuine interest in learning. Witnessing their enthusiasm
and engagement in the topic brought a sense of fulfillment.

This demo allowed me to witness the positive influence educators can

have on their students. Empowering the young minds to recognize the
significance of women's contributions was a meaningful experience
that reinforced my passion for teaching and making a difference in
the lives of my students.

This week was filled with anticipation and hard work as I prepared for two
important occasions: my final demo and giving another demo via an
internet platform.

I began preparing for my final demo, when I would have the chance to
present everything I had learned and achieved throughout this time. I spent
a lot of time carefully planning my class because I wanted my final demo to
be the pinnacle of everything I had learned and experienced as a student
teacher. I had the chance to conduct a second demo using an online
platform in addition to final demo preparation. Despite the students being
far away, I made my presentation dynamic and engaging for them by
adjusting to the digital environment. To keep the students interested and
actively participating in the online session, I kept using multimedia
components and interactive activities.

I kept thinking back on my time as an intern and a student teacher during

the week. The road has been full with worthwhile lessons, difficulties, and
opportunities for personal development.

As I prepared for my final demo, this was the week that my internship was a
tornado of emotions. There was a sense of urgency in finishing the lesson
plan and perfecting the presentation because of the pressure to make it
memorable and powerful.

Time seemed to fly by faster than ever as the demo day drew near. Every
second mattered because there was so much to complete, such as finishing the
text, polishing the presentation, and producing visual aids like a map. The
pressure to succeed drove me to put in endless hours of labor to make sure
that the demo was flawless in every way. In the midst of the chaos, I asked my
cooperating teacher and other teachers for advice and support. In the hurry
leading up to this point, I was committed to giving my best performance
and giving the students a fun learning experience.

I was relieved and grateful to have completed the last demo. The pressure of
preparation tested me, but it also revealed my tenacity and dedication to
being a skilled teacher. Despite the hurry, I was able to demonstrate my
abilities and knowledge, leaving a lasting impression on my students and
reaffirming my commitment to using education to improve their lives.

I went over the course materials in-depth with the students at the start of
the week. The review sessions were created to supplement their education and
aid in their memory of crucial knowledge for the exam. In designing the
exam, I tried to come up with fair and balanced questions that evaluated the
students' understanding of numerous topic areas. To accommodate various
learning styles, I thought of using multiple-choice, short response, and
essay question types.

We also had an important technical check this week for the CupOfEnglish
Internship. To make sure that all participants, including myself and my
fellow interns, were prepared to manage the technical needs of the
internship program, this check was carried out online. Unfortunately, most
of us had issues with our audio and internet connections, which made the
test challenging at times. We found that internet connectivity and audio
problems caused substantial impediments as we went through the technical
check.

We received our online orientation, which served as a thorough

introduction to the CupOfEnglish Internship program, on July 7. We
learned in-depth information about the program's goals, curriculum, and
requirements during this session.

This was the week of the CupOfEnglish Internship Bootcamp, a four-day

intense boot camp with a phonology and grammar concentration. This
review course sought to improve our knowledge of and competence in these
core tenets of English language instruction.

We reviewed the key components of phonetics and phonology in the English

language as the boot camp's comprehensive introduction to phonology got
underway. The study of speech sounds, intonation, stress patterns, and
pronunciation guidelines took up much of our time. We were able to
practice phonemic transcription and phonological analysis during the
interactive sessions. After finishing the phonology, we turned our
attention to the foundations of grammar. We went over the many
grammatical categories, sentence constructions, verb tenses, and other
fundamental ideas. Through interesting exercises and lively discussions, we
improved our comprehension of the best ways to teach grammar to English
language learners.

Our first day of class observation was July 14th. In order to have a reliable
connection and observe how CupOfEnglish teachers instruct, we stayed at
home.

We remained observe of the online classroom. These observations gave us

important knowledge about various teaching philosophies and methods.

I had the chance to run my first demo for the internship over the week.
Despite having mixed feelings of excitement and trepidation, I made the
effort to prepare a strong presentation. My cooperating teacher gave me
constructive criticism, which motivated and inspired me. It gave me
confidence as I continued on my teaching career adventure that I was on
the correct path.

We confronted a special difficulty during the final demo of the week: a

severe 3-minute presentation time limit. It was tough to successfully
deliver the topic and hold the audience's attention in this short amount of
time. The difficulty was increased by a technical problem with my PowerPoint
that messed up the presentation's flow.

It was our culminating activity on the last day of our internship with
CupOfEnglish, during which we prepared several performances, meals, and it
was also the time to present certificates of completion and special awards.

This week, the emphasis has turned to completing the e-portfolio and helping
the SBE department get ready to graduate the students.

I started building my e-portfolio, which is crucial for demonstrating the

abilities, successes, and growth I experienced throughout the internship. As
the body and mind were still recuperating from the strains of the previous
week's activities and all-day labor, the process turned out to be exhausting.

We were able to see the graduates' joy and anticipation because we were
involved in the graduation planning. Being there for them when they
reached this turning point in their academic careers was a rewarding
experience that emphasized the importance of our jobs as teachers.

This internship week was filled with both obstacles and rewards. It took
commitment and persistence to work on the e-portfolio and help with
graduation preparation. The experience reinforced the desire to have a
positive influence on students' lives and gave useful insights into the
practical aspects of education.

The RP-SEA Day was a remarkable occasion for the community of future
educators and psychologists, bringing students, instructors, and staff
together in a spirit of camaraderie and celebration. I should note that
this is the first time in my entire college that we have had this kind of
socializing. All of the attendees were expected to feel a sense of
community and friendship as a result of the event.

Everyone participated in a variety of games and activities that promoted

communication and camaraderie. As students and teachers engaged in
team-building activities and enjoyable challenges, the mood was filled with
laughter and joy.

The RP-SEA Day gave students and teachers the chance to create enduring
memories together. It was a moment to cherish the relationships formed
throughout the academic year and to recognize the teamwork that went into
achieving academic success.

RP-SEA Day was a time for contemplation as the academic year came to an
end. We were able to reflect on the difficulties we overcame, the triumphs we
enjoyed, and the development we through as a group and as individuals.

As a full-time student and prospective teacher, one of my major

obligations was to proctor our classmates' final exams. This experience
gave me important new perspectives on how exams are administered
and the duties involved in maintaining a safe and fair testing
environment.

I worked along with other teachers and employees as a proctor to

efficiently plan the exam procedures. An orderly testing atmosphere
must be maintained by making sure that exam materials are provided
correctly, pupils are situated at the suitable distance, and exam
instructions are clearly explained.

I made an effort to be more than just a neutral observer for the pupils
during the exam. It was easier to foster a good and less stressful
environment by being personable and providing reassurance to anxious
pupils. I urged them to give it their all while stressing the importance of the
assessment as a gauge of their development.
DIFFERENT PHILIPPINE
PROFESSIONAL STANDARD

DOMAIN 1:CONTENT KNOWLEDGE AND PEDAGOGY

An essential component of good teaching is content knowledge and

pedagogy, which includes the teacher's knowledge of the material they
are covering and their aptitude for engaging pupils in learning it.
I've learned the importance of this domain and how it affects
students' learning and engagement throughout my career as a teacher.

Being a successful instructor requires having a firm knowledge of the

material I teach. I can confidently respond to students' inquiries,
offer pertinent examples, and clearly explain difficult concepts when I
have a thorough understanding of the subject at hand. My ability to
connect different themes thanks to my content understanding helps
the students' educational experience be more unified and meaningful.

The pedagogical component, which entails using efficient teaching

approaches and strategies, is also crucial. I can adapt my lesson to
diverse pupils' needs by being aware of various learning methods and
personal preferences.

DOMAIN 2: LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Whether students are learning online or in person, creating a positive

learning environment is crucial.

Establishing a healthy learning environment in an online setting

necessitates deliberate efforts to overcome physical barriers between students
and foster a feeling of community. Making sure that all students, even
those who are not physically present in the classroom, feel included and
involved, is one of the major issues.

Due to the physical presence and close contact with students in a face-to-
faceDOMAIN

frequently be accomplished more quickly. Real-time communication,

prompt feedback, and spontaneous participation are made possible by face-

to-face instruction, which can improve the atmosphere of belonging and
community in the classroom.

No matter the method of education, the educator's top priority should always
be to foster a happy learning atmosphere. I am able to offer kids a supportive
and welcoming learning environment where they can excel intellectually
and emotionally by balancing the special difficulties and opportunities of
both online and face-to-face contexts.

DOMAIN 3: DIVERSITY OF LEARNERS

This crucial element of teaching emphasizes the significance of identifying

and catering to the various needs, backgrounds, and skills of students in
the classroom. Understanding and embracing this area has had a
revolutionary impact on my teaching style as an educator, enabling me to
foster a more welcoming and encouraging learning environment for all
pupils.

One of the core components of Domain 3 has been appreciating my pupils'

variety. Each kid brings to the classroom a different collection of
experiences, talents, and difficulties. Accepting this variation encourages a
sense of community and affirms the uniqueness of each learner. I want
every student to feel valued, respected, and represented in the learning
process through fostering an inclusive environment.

Providing specialized help is another aspect of addressing the various needs

of students. By identifying kids who might need extra help, such as those with
learning challenges or communication difficulties, I can provide
interventions and adjustments that are tailored to their unique need.
Students who experience emotional or academic difficulties require a loving
and supportive atmosphere in order to flourish academically and form a
healthy self-concept.

DOMAIN 4: CURRICULUM PLANNING

It entails creating and implementing a curriculum that is well-structured

and has a purpose in order to suit the educational needs of students.
Assuring alignment between learning objectives, instructional activities,
and assessments is one of Domain 4's guiding concepts.

I encourage a better understanding and enjoyment for learning by

integrating real-world relevance, customizing instruction, and
connecting learning objectives with assessments. It is possible to maintain
a curriculum that is sensitive to students' needs and equips them for success
in a constantly changing world by reflecting on results and making
curriculum improvements throughout time. I can positively influence my
students' academic progress and cultivate a passion of learning that goes
well beyond the classroom by adopting the concepts of Domain 4.

This has taught me the value of adaptability and constant development in

curriculum planning. I have the chance to improve and alter the
curriculum to better meet the requirements of students as I gain knowledge
from my experiences in the classroom and through student input. The
curriculum stays relevant and efficient by being open to innovation and
sensitive to the evolving educational context.

DOMAIN 5: ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING

A key component of good teaching is assessment and reporting, which

entails creating meaningful tests, capturing data on student learning, and
giving students timely feedback to help them grow.

I've learned the value of thoughtful assessment design as a result of it. I

am able to measure the degree to which students have achieved the intended
results by coordinating assessments with learning objectives and
instructional activities. Combining formative and summative exams in a
well-structured assessment plan enables me to track students' development
and spot areas that might require further help.

Additionally, it stresses the significance of providing kids and their families

with transparent reporting. Students and parents are informed of
accomplishments, assets, and areas for improvement thanks to clear and
thorough reporting. I support the development of a collaborative learning
environment where students, parents, and educators work together to
support student success by encouraging open communication through
regular reporting.

DOMAIN 6: COMMUNITY AND LINKAGES AND

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Building solid relationships with the community, working together with

coworkers, and continually looking for possibilities for growth and
improvement all depend on this.

I've learned the importance of working together in the community. My

students' support system is strengthened through forging alliances with
parents, neighborhood groups, and locals. Community participation in
educational programs encourages a sense of shared accountability for
students' performance and creates chances for learning experiences outside
of the classroom.

Furthermore positively influences students' learning by encouraging a

cooperative and supportive teaching environment. My performance as an
educator is influenced by how I interact with the community, work with
colleagues, and pursue professional growth. As a result, my kids receive
higher-quality instruction and support, which results in better academic
results.
