1.Would you consider the work of a social worker challenging yet rewarding Career? Why?
Yes, social workers work is challenging because they will solve the problem that others cannot solve,
they will provide what others need, it is also very challenging because they are not the only ones asking
for their help, it is rewarding because they save people in their difficulties and they find the solution on
it.

Activity 1.1 Clients and Needs!
1.Child Abuse- the child who’s been abused needs to be talked to calmly, needs support and
immediately and it is also needed support and requires immediate action, she also needs protection
2. Physical Abuse- Xander Ford’s girlfriend needs guidance and protection because there is a possibility
that she will receive threat
3. Collateral Damage- those people nearby the war needs to evacuate quickly because they have adults
and children with them and this can cause them to be traumatized, and they should be consulted
immediately on how to reduce their fear.
4. Poverty/Rugby Addiction- social worker needs to catch them because they can harm the road, and
take them to the rehabilitation center to help them and provide what they need.
5.Violence against women- the woman had to undergo counseling because she suffered ill-treatment
from her husband

Case Study No. 1
Questions:
What are the issues for Sam?
-Sam is drinking alcohol, being suspended in school, he has been unemployed, he has been charged
shoplifting and possession of marijuana
What can be done here?
-He must be aware that what he is doing is pure harm to him, someone needs to pay attention and talk
to him
Who can help?
-Family member who can handle him, observe to correct his mistakes, can also be his friend who talks
seriously with him or when it is difficult to solve take him to the psychiatric to help him better and
diagnose the most issue with him

Questions:
What is the first thing you are going to do or say?
-Vicky is pessimistic, she leads things in a negative way and it is not good for her
How do you ensure that Vicky is kept safe and still respect her wishes and Feelings? Do you have any
right to intervene?
-I will allow her to say what she wants because when you oppose it may get worse, I have the right to
interfere especially when what she is doing to herself is no longer good
Where/from whom could you seek help?
-If Vicky don’t want to go to the hospital, I will acquire private doctor to help her in her condition

1. Social Welfare Administration- because it is a program that is related to welfare that created by
Aquino Administration
2.Social Care Work- because John’s mother worries about him and it is needed to know what to do
because there are some changes to John
3. Community Organization- because it is created group that is planning to have treatment on growing
problem of alcoholism, immediately.
4. Social Work Research- because Rona do some research to lessen the problem that is stated, she
wants to find the solution by doing research.
5. Social Case Work- because they recruited social workers that will help to the single parent who
encounter mixed problems, that single parent need quick treatment.

Myself & I
As I imagined my self as a social worker I think this is challenging because the answer of their of their
problem maybe it is on you, being a social worker is not easy as we think, because you will encounter
different social issues that needs assistance of social worker.

Cyberbullying is a social problem experienced by many youths that make their confidence become low,
my plan on my client who’s been cyberbullied, I will talk to my client and I will say something positive
that makes my client feel accepted, I will talk to my client I want them to believe on what I am saying, I
want them to know that I care, I will help them to report their cases, I will help the client to calm, I will
invite my client on what I am doing that will help him/her to meditate to lessen his/her fear and trauma
that she/he encounter

Journal Entry
Directions: Make a simple narrative about yourself on how you will apply Martin Luther King Jr.’s
famous quotation, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, “what are you doing for others?”
I will helped them when they need me, I will volunteer myself on what I can do to make other works
easily, I will asked them what can I contribute to make their work have a good outcome. I’m working for
others because the way you feel when you are helping is different, it is enjoyable when you do nice to
others. It is heart melting when someone appreciates you on what you do for others sake.
