Our topic for today has something to do with literary genre. Based on the previous activity, what are the two
classifications of literary genre?

A Literary Genre refers to a writing style in making or writing piece. The term genre is a category used to classify
the work of an author. A Literary Genre can be classified either as Fiction or Nonfiction.
E. Discussion
When we say fiction, these are written stories about people and events that are not real; and literature that tell
stories which are imagined by the writer.

Nonfiction is a literature comprising works of narrative prose dealing with or offering opinions or conjectures
upon facts and reality. Basically, they are not imaginary.

Nonfiction can be categorized into three major divisions:

 Literary Nonfiction,
 Informative Nonfiction, and
 Journalistic Nonfiction

Each division has unique set of elements. However, these three major divisions have a similar context that
everything written by the author/writer should be based on “truth” or “factual”.
