Do you agree or disagree? Because many problems can now be solved by people themselves and
their families, help from government is no longer necessary.

Governments have played an important role in organizing society for all citizens to live better lives.
Yet, some people may argue that there is no need for government supports because citizens now
already have enough power to deal with most problems occurring in the world by the use of
technology. However, I believe that people still need to be assisted by governments to solve a
number of big issues.

To begin with, it is partly true that some problems can be solved by only citizens. For example, a few
decades ago, ordinary people had difficulty in getting chances of high-quality education, so the
government needed to support for scholarships or a basic educational system to be distributed to
ordinary citizens as well as the rich. These days, on the other hand, people can learn anything via the
internet, even with free-WiFi at some place. For another example, even if people get in trouble in
insufficient funds for a new project, they can raise funds through the social network services instead
of asking government for the financial help. In fact, in Japan, a funding system has been established
known as “Cloud Funding,” which can sometime raise more than one million yen. As the result of
development of technology, especially the internet, people can solve many issues on their own.

Nevertheless, there are still much more challenging problems in the world, which is hard to be
solved by citizens, even with the use of the internet. One of the examples of such big issues is the
environmental problem, including global warming, air pollution, and deforestatioin. To solve the
issues, it is necessary for govenment to negociate between nations and allocate budgets to solutions
to donating for invention of sustainable technologies. This is obviously beyond citizens’ capacities.
Moreover, there are other complicated problems that only citizens could not solve, such as the
disparity of whealthy, the control of pandemic, and the suppresion of wars. Therefore, even now,
government helps are needed for solving a number of global issues.

From above discussion, I can asfely draw the conclusion that, although some issues can be dealt with
by citizens themselves, there are still complex matters in the world that government should be
involved with in order to solve it. People should acknowlege that government support is still
indispensable for our better and peaceful lives.
